Reservations will not be required to visit Yosemite National Park during summer of 2023. Reservations were required in the summers of 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic and in summer 2022 when numerous key visitor attractions were closed for critical infrastructure repairs. 1/3

Two lightning ignited fires continue to burn in Yosemite’s Wilderness; the Red Fire (749 acres) and the Rodgers Fire (150 acres). Both are being managed by fire crews. Air quality may be affected in areas of the high country and in Yosemite Valley for the remainder of the week.

The #OakFfire is currently burning west of Yosemite in the Mariposa/Midpines area. This fire has caused the closure of Hwy 140 west of Mariposa and has resulted in poor air quality. Check air quality at fire.airnow.gov and get Oak fire updates at fire.ca.gov/incidents/2022….
All other areas of Yosemite are open, although a reservation is required to drive into the park if arriving between 6 am and 4 pm: go.nps.gov/reserve.

#WashburnFire: The @RedCross is opening an evacuation shelter at New Life Christian Fellowship (5089 Cole Rd, Mariposa, CA 95338) for evacuees affected by the Washburn Fire in #Yosemite. Volunteers are on-site to provide safe shelter, food, water and additional resources.

Once Tioga Road opens on May 27, expect delays of up to 30 minutes during the day and one hour at night from Sunday nights through Friday afternoons in the Tenaya Lake and Tuolumne Meadows areas.
Tioga Road (continuation of Hwy 120 through the park) is scheduled to open May 27. A reservation is required to drive into *or through* Yosemite between 6 am and 4 pm through September 30; this includes travelers passing through the park on Tioga Road. go.nps.gov/reserve.
