says that in her years of reporting on race in America, she "never would have imagined the person in the office of the president calling people who go to a Nazi rally 'very fine people.'"

On the edit room floor tonight, a Fond du Lac guy telling @Yamiche
“You’ve got fringe right, you’ve got fringe left. The rest of us folks here in Wisconsin, what do we want? We want a $5.95 all-you-can eat fish fry with dollar tappers.” @mattloff twitter.com/newshour/statu…
seeing some complaints about no questions abt race but all these questions could be about race. health care, child care, college, foreign policy, whatever u want. it is a failure of candidate imagination that racial inequities only come up when it's a formal question abt it
Can we all just collectively applaud @abbydphillip
for what a tremendous debate moderator she is?!
Bernie Sanders denied that he told Elizabeth Warren that a woman could not win but he also just said "the real question" is who can beat Trump.
's Q got to heart of whether a woman's identity should be held against her.
Many think that is the "real question."
“Collectively they have lost 10 elections,” @SenWarren
says of the men on the debate stage 👀👀👀🔥🔥🔥
President Trump wrapping up his Milwaukee rally as the Democratic debate continues says: "We are taking back our country...We are going to keep on winning, winning, winning...The best is yet to come."
It is now over after President Trump spoke for about an hour and 25 minutes.
: Would you allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon, yes or no?
Meanwhile in Milwaukee, President Trump is telling a majority white rally crowd that Republicans "love" black people and that black voters are joining the Republican Party bc of the low African American unemployment rate. twitter.com/mattloff/statu…
Buttigieg passionately talks about how hard it is to leave family members behind while serving in the military.
Sanders stressing ending "endless wars" in the Middle East.
But Biden stresses need to have some presence in the Middle East and building coalitions.
Sen Bernie Sanders is arguing that even though he sees his vote for the Afghanistan war as a mistake, voting for the war in Iraq was an even bigger mistake by people like former VP Joe Biden.
It's an interesting argument given The Washington Post reporting on Afghanistan.
is about to start and President Trump is on stage getting loud cheers for saying he is bringing better dish washers to the United States.
"Your dishes are going to be beautiful," he says just before the debate in Iowa gets underway.
In Milwaukee, President Trump says much of the success in Wisconsin can be traced back to former Republican Gov. Scott Walker. Reminder: Walker lost bid for a third term to his Democratic opponent, the state’s former schools superintendent, Gov. Tony Evers.
"It's been there for -- a thousand years," Trump says of the Turkey-Syria border that is less than 100 years old.
President Trump just took the stage, about an hour before the Democratic debate tonight. twitter.com/newshour/statu…
Vice President Pence in Milwaukee talking the Democratic debate tonight: “Those people are going to be standing so far on the left that I think that stage is going to tip over."
Pence added that Democrats were wrong to question Pres Trump's decision to kill Qasem Soleimani.
I traveled to Milwaukee to cover President Trump's rally tonight. He won this state by less than 23,000 votes so Democrats and Republicans are eyeing the state.
And, VP Mike Pence just took the stage and got big applause for saying President Trump is keeping American lives safe. twitter.com/NewsHour/statu…

Behind closed doors, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi raised concerns to her caucus about the Russian hack into Burisma, and said the Gang of Eight was not briefed on it, saying she learned about it through news reports, per multiple sources.
SCHIFF told Democrats he expects they will get 24 hours to present their case and it will likely be 6 hours a day over four days. That’s in part bc of Chief Justice Roberts’ schedule
All this per Rep. Peter Welch and others.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that the vote to name managers will be tomorrow and the transmittal of the articles will be tomorrow. She also hasn’t named managers yet, a Democrat aide tells me.

Bernie Sanders v Elizabeth Warren crosses over into warring on the record statements.
Warren says Sanders told her a woman couldn’t win.
Sanders says he never said that.

Another WH source pushed back on idea Repub senators—including Gardner— would want witnesses but said that info would be finalized in Senate. That person also said WH lawyers have been ready since *before Christmas* to start the trial and didn’t expect this much time to prepare.
And, as first reported by CBS News, a source tells me the WH views Sen Rand Paul of Kentucky as a "wild card" and Sen Lamar Alexander of Tennessee as an "institutionalist" who might vote to call witnesses.
That shows Trump is increasingly aware that the trial could be damaging.
Confirmed: A source tells me White House officials increasingly believe that at least four Republicans, and likely more, will vote to call witnesses at the Senate impeachment trial including Senators Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, Mitt Romney and possibly Cory Gardner.
President Trump is going to be holding a campaign rally in Des Moines, Iowa on January 30, just days before the Iowa Caucuses on February 3.
