Thanks for having us, @REWorld! Always a pleasure to discuss equitable state-level solar policy ☀️ /thread
3. Gradually ramp down the value that future solar customers who are not low-income receive for their extra clean energy that they export to their neighbors and the grid. (10/11)
2. Require future higher-income residential solar customers to go on an electrification-friendly time of use rate, which will incent them to add a battery with their solar and will also ensure they pay a reasonable fixed charge. (9/11)
1. Ensure equitable access to solar by fixing savings at current NEM 2 levels for future low-income solar customers so we can keep solar affordable for those who most need the bill savings. (8/11)
We should be thinking of rooftop solar as an asset, just like energy efficiency and demand response, and find ways to use it to everyone’s benefit. Vote Solar supports these changes as we update net metering in the Golden State: (7/11)
This would make it even harder to provide the cost-saving benefits of solar to many low-wealth communities at a time when families are struggling to pay their utility bills and across the country we have seen over 2.6 million shutoffs because of it. (6/11)
A punitive tax on solar customers could shrink the market by as much as 60% at a time when we need to actually ramp up deployment. (5/11)
We oppose a solar-only fee, as it would unfairly discriminate against solar customers, charging them for the energy they produce instead of buying from the utility. (4/11)
Hundreds of organizations and over 120,000 California residents publicly opposed the CPUC’s disastrous December proposal, which included a discriminatory new solar-only fee. (3/11)
We are waiting for a new @californiapuc proposal on California’s update to net metering. What California does will set the stage for rooftop solar policy across the nation. (2/11)

#CALeg: Working families struggle with rising power rates & utility debt. #AB2316 + $1 billion investment prioritizing community renewable energy in #environmentaljustice communities will yield up to $400/year in utility bill savings for 250k families over 25 years!
Instead of continuing to waste @SRPconnect ratepayers' $ by fighting to add 16 gas units at a cost of nearly $1 billion, the utility should be working to provide options that cost less $ & less harm to air quality & public health. #energytwitter twitter.com/utilityreporte…
