Friendships make the best spaceships
My whole life all I’ve wanted is to leave the world a little better than I found it, and it seems a half dozen people are absolutely determined to do the opposite. twitter.com/scotusblog/sta…
1. It’s ok to mourn and let people mourn. 2. Don’t spread misinformation. Abortion is still legal and available in many jurisdictions. 3. You HAVE to do more than mourn. Not sure where to start? Donate to abortion funds: secure.actblue.com/donate/support…

My team has spotted something unexpected: It’s a piece of a thermal blanket that they think may have come from my descent stage, the rocket-powered jet pack that set me down on landing day back in 2021.

On Sol 414 the Ingenuity mars helicopter scouted the crash site of the parachute and backshell that brought it and the rover safely through the atmosphere before it was jettisoned and crashed on the surface. Interactive version on @Sketchfab: skfb.ly/ouWG7

As always I’m just trying to keep my content humble and relatable
Sometimes I’ll say “oh sorry, my computer is having problems” and a friend will suggest calling the help desk and I’ll have to clarify “oh no I mean the flight computer on the spacecraft.”
Someone at work said my spacecraft is very pretty and I guess this is what proud parents feel like?

Awesome to see the @NASAJPL/@isro team testing NISAR. This big bird has a 12m diameter deployable reflector on the end of a 9m arm. From earthquakes, to polar ice budgets, to wetlands dynamics and more. Radar unlocks Earth’s secrets - such great science! #DareMightyThingsTogether twitter.com/NASAJPL/status…

The power of this reflector unleashed is to create kettle corn on a global scale
This is the SS Kettlecorn. Or NISAR. You decide. nisar.jpl.nasa.gov
Like everyone, I too struggle to decide between free kettle corn and watching our spacecraft hardware deploy in the clean room #relatableproblems

The signs at work that point at various objects in the universe broke so one of them is permanently pointing at Uranus and it’s perfect
Whoa. Aerial shots of this landing debris field are cool twitter.com/NASAJPL/status…
Slightly used parachute and backshell available. Only used once! Must pick up in Jezero Crater.

Freedom takes flight! Three @NASA_Astronauts and one @esa astronaut lifted off from @NASAKennedy aboard the @SpaceX Dragon Freedom. #Crew4's expected arrival time at the @Space_Station is about 15.5 hours from now.

These two were the best at that elementary school recess thing where you’d all hold up a giant sheet and someone would run under it and now they work at NASA

Since I also forgot to add alt text: this is NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s Highbay-1 in the Spacecraft Assembly Facility. There’s a lot of support equipment pictured, and in the back is the NISAR spacecraft being assembled (and partially obscured by a radar absorbing wall).
Happy Friday, here’s a spacecraft for your weekend!
Also can we talk about how I would wear everything Picard is wearing? I love this so much @CBC_Design
Finally watching #StarTrekPicard @StarTrekOnPPlus / @paramountplus and honestly it makes me feel like a kid watching The Next Generation again. Good to be back, friends.
How incredibly cool to see that #JWST is seeing stars and calibrating to get that sweet, sweet science! twitter.com/NASAWebb/statu…

The wonderful thing about seeing spacecraft in space is witnessing how incredibly human made they are, not perfect robots, but reflective of the people who built them twitter.com/AJ_FI/status/1…
