Thank you. STATEMENT ENDS. Alan Partridge DBNR
If my statue can in some way act as an Ambassador for Brass, and encourage just ten children to take up a brass instrument, it will be an upbeat ending to an otherwise dreadful year.
I was further concerned the statue would be a compound resin with gold paint applied. These fears have also been allayed.
If the people of Norwich and surrounding areas want to memorialise me in sculpture, then as long as it is rendered in alpha brass with a low zinc content and not, say, a duplex brass, I grant my consent and will instruct my legal team to resheathe their daggers.
A STATEMENT. Although this is completely unauthorised, having taken counsel, I am happy that the statue's attitude and stance are correct.…
Podcast fans! Do you like podcasts? If you like podcasts, try my podcast From The Oasthouse: The Alan Partridge Podcast, which is a podcast. And while some people, perhaps because they're sexually inadequate or thick, say it's an audiobook, it's a podcast.
Today, the 81st birthday of the Citizens Advice Bureau, sees the launch of my podcast on @audibleuk. To play it from an Alexa device, just say “Alexa, play From the Oasthouse on Audible” four or five times and the content will play automatically. God bless and Rule Britannia.
Hello and good morning. Having made a series of podcasts for @audibleuk I am obliged to issue 6 (six) promotional tweets. This is the first (1st) of those tweets. To listen to an episode free NOW, simply shout ALEXA READ FROM THE OASTHOUSE ON AUDIBLE directly at her. Thank you.
Every day I receive umpteen questions (if not more) from fans wanting to know about the real me. And even though that’s true, I’m nonetheless soliciting additional questions from YOU. They will either be used in an exciting forthcoming project (if any) or more likely discarded.
*The moral right of Alan Partridge to be identified as the author of this work is asserted in the Copyright, Designs & Patents Act 1988.*…
And just to add, I’d be delighted to do Desert Island Discs if asked. (cc. @TheRealKirstyG)
Not that Inheritance Tax is any less horrific but there we go.
Still! All good publicity for the paperback of NOMAD. The perfect book to inherit…. or take on a desert island!!!!…
A desert island might be fun for Radio 4 but fun it ain’t for someone who died on one or had a sand grub burrow into his cheek and lay eggs.
Anyway, I’d never do Desert Island Discs, a format that trivialises the very real horror of being shipwrecked and marooned on a sandy mound.
If ‘Inheritance Tracks’ is half as good as the pun in its title, it promises to be one HELL of a show!!!
Which is better actually. I’m pleased.
Right, just been informed it’s NOT Desert Island Discs. It’s Inheritance Tracks, a similar but shorter segment from the same radio station.
At half past 10, I’ll be on Radio 4 discussing my life and the records that mean most to me. That’s Desert Island Discs with Alan Partridge.
So once again, that’s Nomad by James Swallow, published by Zaffre.
And ‘Marc Dane’ is a great name. Straight away, you want to know more.
If it comes down to a choice, maybe go with his Nomad actually. Some bits of mine drag a bit but Swallow’s is dynamite from what I can tell.
So in conclusion buy this Nomad (…) or this Nomad (…), which as I say sounds stunning.
This book does sound good actually.
“With the eyes of the security establishment elsewhere, only Lucy and Marc can stop the attack before it's too late.”
“A terrorist attack is coming, one bigger and more deadly than has ever been seen before.”
“Ex US Army, Lucy also knows what it's like to be an outsider, and she's got the skills that Marc is sorely lacking.”
They’re a decent operation.
“With no one left to trust, Marc is forced to rely on the elusive Rubicon group and its operative Lucy Keyes.” Think I’ve heard of Rubicon.
“Accused of betraying his country, he must race against time to clear his name.”
“However the evidence seems to point towards Marc as the perpetrator of the attack.” Even though he didn’t do it??
“But when a brutal attack on his team leaves Marc as the only survivor - he's forced into the front line.” (yawn)
According to the blurb, “Marc Dane is a MI6 field agent at home behind a computer screen, one step away from the action….” I ask you!
Or this Nomad. They want £22.84 for it, for crying out loud. NO book is worth that!…
I wouldn’t buy this Nomad either. Don’t like cover.…
For what it’s worth, my Nomad is also about a personal journey. And also about a clash of civilisations (Norfolk/Suffolk). But done better.
Also avoid NOMAD: A Personal Journey Through the Clash of Civilizations.…
NO ONE in my work is named after a piece of ballistic weaponry, unless you count Delia Smith (& Weston).
Just ensure you buy the Nomad that’s by me, not this Nomad about a renegade motorcyclist called ‘Cannon’ Johns.…
The paperback of my book NOMAD is available to buy. Please do so at your soonest convenience. Thank you.
Buy NOMAD from Amazon: Also available in local bookshops, if still in business (only got selves to blame). (23/22)
And here’s the paperback cover, featuring a dead fish and a nice comment sent to us by Caitlin Moran, a reader from Birmingham. (22/22)
