At this time, XP wallets v5.2.0.2 and greater can be taken out of maintenance mode. We're a week out from the hard fork, all appropriate sporks enabled, and all new features have been tested.

Today, XP officially became a privacy-enabled blockchain with the first privacy transaction appearing in block 1055486.
As cryptospace evolves, we will do all we can to ensure holders of XP have every opportunity to ensure the value they place in XP can be kept private.
To confirm, we have recommended to all third party service providers that they leave their XP wallets in maintenance mode until all sporks have been activated on the forked chain.
While we have extensively tested the fork and are confident in our work, it's the safe thing to do.
