Near JSQ, our largest mural is underway as part of the Jersey City Public Arts Program. The artist is the amazing Mona Caron and you can see her on the scaffold in these pictures to appreciate the scale of what she is doing. #JerseyCity
Really good breakfast w/@ericadamsfornyc. We discussed many overlapping issues between NYC/JC from anti terrorism, to cyber security, to JCPD ESU training, to JCPD internal affairs, to bail reform, to homelessness. I couldn’t be more optimistic about possibilities
Our JC composting program has been a huge success. In the coming weeks, we’re starting a new pick up program for homes throughout the city to further encourage composting. The pick up will happen via bike bc that’s how we do it! Thx @paddymyke + @bikejc for getting this ready!
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for NJ and we should not let it get away from us. @BrendanWGill @rasjbaraka @EHGreenway @bikejc #JerseyCity nj.com/opinion/2021/0…
3/3 City Council meeting for the council to consider so that we can make sure that there are ongoing timely inspections in Jersey City and important work governed by condo associations doesn’t slip + endanger residents.
2/3 Florida, we’ve had residents in several buildings in JC reach out that they know their condo boards were delaying work because of the potential cost to residents. There aren’t many policies in the state to protect here, so we’ll be introducing some locally at the next..
1/3 Following the tragic collapse of the Champlain Tower in Surfside FL we’ve been re-examining the local policies that exist in both Jersey City and NJ to protect our residents that live in older high-rise structures. We certainly have the most in NJ. Since the sad news from
I hope you had a great 4th of July in #JerseyCity. I’m really proud of our team that we were able to put something great together for our amazing residents in a short amount of time. Thank you everyone that helped out. It’s been a long year.
I had a chance to talk about this tweet + our work in #JerseyCity with a reporter yesterday so I wanted to share it with you. patch.com/new-jersey/jer…
This is my aunt (my mom’s sister). We had 35 members of our immediate family taken to Auschwitz + 7 survived. This was a nice surprise to see this post from @AuschwitzMuseum + may all of their memories live forever. #NeverForget twitter.com/AuschwitzMuseu…
URGENT ACTION: The window is closing for the creation of the @EHGreenway. Without immediate action from @GovMurphy the dream of a linear park will be lost forever. Please CONTACT GOV MURPHY and tag him in social media to urge him to support the #EssexHudsonGreenway

Here is some info on JC 4th of July Fireworks. We’re back in a big way. We managed to secure Grucci again who is the absolute best on the fireworks front + we have 2 barges that are more spaced out (per Coast Guard) for better visibility throughout JC. Fireworks start at 930pm
meeting will be a change to the affordable housing requirements in the JSQ 2060 plan (making it stricter 20%) + finally we have the opportunity to buy these 2 major properties in JSQ as opposed to straight market rate housing + I’m pushing that we should maximize this option
1/2 Between the Loews Theater and The Pompidou Jersey City, a framework w/anchor institutions are in place for the future of Journal Square. Yesterday, we met with the community on a pivot for the Apple Tree House + in addition on the next council… nj.com/hudson/2021/06…
Nothing beats being a dad. I’m so glad we are getting back to normal with tons of community events throughout #JerseyCity and I’m thankful I can bring Jaxon to all of them (for as long as he lasts)
We are still focused on vaccination efforts and can’t let up. Our mobile site w/@HudCoTweet is in front of Michael Yun’s store on Central Ave today. So far 25 ppl getting vaccinated today - let’s continue the progress as every person counts. #JerseyCity
this world class museum to Jersey City. Today’s actions by the state in their budget speaks to the importance of this museum to both NJ + beyond w/regards to tourism and economic activity. This project is another big step forward for JSQ + we’re extremely proud of the progress
.@PhilMurphyNJ has been committed to supporting transformational projects throughout the state + we’re so thankful of his support tor the @CentrePompidou #JerseyCity in the state budget. From the beginning, he and @FirstLadyNJ have been essential parts of a long process to lure

legalization, then they should also be providing an opportunity for people that live in federally subsidized housing to safely use the product whether for medical or adult use. You can’t say you are about social equity and then ban consumption bc you are basically setting ppl up
This is an important part of social equity. Being that cannabis is not legalized on the federal level, Anyone that has cannabis in federally subsidized housing could still be prosecuted/face penalties. So on site consumption matters bc if a state allows marijuana twitter.com/HeinisHardNews…
#JerseyCity and #AtlanticCity are currently the only municipalities in the state moving forward with plans to allow marijuana consumption lounges. 🌿🌬️@THE_Dan_Ulloaoa has the detailshudsoncountyview.com/jersey-city-pl…4e

More data around municipal government. We’re starting 22 miles of street repaving to be done by end of yr. The streets were driven by community feedback + engineering. I included a link so you can better track our activity by street, ward, year paved etc. public.tableau.com/app/profile/je…
7-0 passed planning board tonight setting local policy around Marijuana legalization in JC. In case you are wondering we will not be a city putting bans on this + actually the contrary - we are looking forward to working closely w/residents to nurture a new industry
This is our 52nd CitiBike station that was just installed at Audubon Park and the 53rd one will be installed next week on MLK Drive. It is already getting great usage! We also have approximately 4 miles of protected bike lanes scheduled for installation this year
2/3 sharing here quarterly data. Demand has grown faster than we expected which has pushed up wait time slightly beyond zone we want (still better than bus) so we will now work to add vehicles and further drive down wait time.
3/3 - Im proud of our team here as better access to transportation facilitates economic and employment growth. It’s not a substitute for @NJTRANSIT but we will always look to find local solutions to benefit residents
1/3 In 2020, #JerseyCity launched a municipal subsidized ride-share program in partnership w/@ridewithvia to connect transit deserts - we are one of the few in the country doing it + at a larger scale than anyone else. The system has been a huge success beyond any expectation.
Jersey City is providing free medical exams & free legal help for immigrants applying for Green Cards, says Mayor @StevenFulop. It's apparently the first city in the county to offer such services.

We are planning to begin installing this year’s first protected bike lane next week on Hoboken Avenue. This will extend the current lanes on 18th street up the hill on Hoboken Avenue, ending at Rt. 139. It will get us closer to connecting the Heights with Downtown and Hoboken.
While cities all across the country have had huge increases in gun violence here in Jersey City we have bucked that trend due to good community work and partnerships w/police. However we are still far from where we want to be + There is still so much more work to do
One shooting is one shooting too many and we are committed to driving this down to zero. Any amount of gun violence is unacceptable and we know that the lives lost from gun violence create permanent scars for families and entire communities. nj.com/hudson/2021/05…
A beautiful day for a bike ride. Big day today w/an expansion of our Citi Bike system north into Hoboken and an expansion further south in Jersey City + more bikes. We’ll continue to work w/@bikejc to build a safe + complete protected system nyc.streetsblog.org/2021/05/11/cit…
