I couldn’t get close enough to see if they were prey or the symbiotic fish that hides out in their lethal skirts. According to @mcsuk there have been a few sightings off our west coast recently. Treat with great respect as the venom can be dangerous even to us.
Portuguese man o’war! While heading back from filming baitballs in the Celtic Deep, we came across this beauty. Not a jellyfish but a siphonophore; a colonial animal made up of distinct but genetically identical zooids. There were two fish hanging below the bladder;

Common dolphins have been a constant companion through this spring and summer spent on British seas. The main hypothesis as to why dolphins bow wave ride, is to conserve energy, but this is obviously false! They’ll swim in to find you from a mile away, ride BACK the way

Seashore wildlife conundrum; who knows what this is? Spongy tubes found in the shallows at super low tide. Seashells woven into the structure almost like adornment… answer to follow this eve! @ScillyWildlife
