Despite the pandemic, our population continued to grow, because Nova Scotians made our province a desirable place to live by doing what they’ve always done – looking out for their neighbours & working together. And that’s how we will get through the pandemic.
Before the pandemic, NS was seeing back-to-back record-setting immigration years, population was at an all-time high, & we were getting younger while filling persistent labour gaps. Investments and programs for youth helped us curb youth out-migration for the 1st time in decades.
It’s a historic moment for our province – our population has hit one million people.
This milestone is the result of many people working together to show the world the reasons why #NovaScotia is a wonderful place to live, work and play.

I’m saddened to hear of the passing of Roger Bacon, Nova Scotia’s 21st Premier. I have always appreciated Roger’s wisdom and our conversations, and I’m glad we had this photo taken during my last visit. I extend my condolences to Roger’s family and loved ones.
Nova Scotians who received their first dose of the vaccine are encouraged to move up their second dose appointment. The sooner we get double-dosed, the sooner we can better protect our loved ones and communities. If you haven’t booked your vaccine appointment, please do so today.
I got my second shot today in Bridgetown at the firehall. A big thank you to the Bridgetown Pharmasave for running this clinic and to the Lion’s Club for their logistical support.

Today is Doctors Day - a time to recognize and celebrate physicians for their contributions. I want to thank all doctors who have been working tirelessly throughout this pandemic to keep Nova Scotians safe, especially my friend, Dr. @StrangRobert, and his public health team.

Getting the #COVID19NS vaccine is a quick and easy way to protect yourself and those around you, and I was happy to do my part by getting my first #AstraZeneca dose today at the Wolfville Lions Club.

We’ve also worked hard to slow the spread of #COVID19NS and keep each other safe. While there is a lot to be proud of, there is still more work to do, and we need to remain vigilant as the vaccination program continues to roll out.
I would like to thank Nova Scotians for their support over the last seven years. We’ve accomplished a lot together - we’ve made investments and policy decisions that will have a positive impact on our province and its people for generations to come.

I thank Nova Scotians for their patience while waiting for the vaccine, and for keeping one another safe by following public health measures.
Today marks an important step in our vaccine rollout with the first community clinic for people age 80 and older. I know we are all looking forward to seeing clinics across the province in the coming weeks and months.
As of today, Feb. 22, Nova Scotia has 19 active cases of #COVID19NS. One new case is being reported today.
The case is in Central Zone and is a close contact of a previously reported case: novascotia.ca/news/release/?….
