Today we remember & honour the lives lost in our province on April 18 & 19, 2020. My thoughts are with their families & loved ones, & all who were impacted by the tragic events that took place. We are also reminded of the solidarity & resilience of Nova Scotians #NovaScotiaStrong
Today is #BellLetsTalk Day - a time to spread awareness and reduce the stigma around mental health. The past two years have been especially challenging for us all. Today, I encourage you to pick up the phone and check in with a friend, loved one, or neighbour.
This is a great start, Nova Scotia. Let’s keep going and provide more hope for those in need of an organ or tissue donation.…
Alexa McDonough was a compassionate leader and a beloved politician. She showed women in Nova Scotia and across the country they belong in politics. My thoughts are with her family and loved ones.…
Thank you, @IainTRankin, for successfully leading our province through the third wave and a historic vaccine rollout. Wishing you, Mary and Freya all the best.
Despite the pandemic, our population continued to grow, because Nova Scotians made our province a desirable place to live by doing what they’ve always done – looking out for their neighbours & working together. And that’s how we will get through the pandemic.
Before the pandemic, NS was seeing back-to-back record-setting immigration years, population was at an all-time high, & we were getting younger while filling persistent labour gaps. Investments and programs for youth helped us curb youth out-migration for the 1st time in decades.
It’s a historic moment for our province – our population has hit one million people. This milestone is the result of many people working together to show the world the reasons why #NovaScotia is a wonderful place to live, work and play.
For forty years, @CTVAnchor has been a household name in the Maritime region. Never afraid to ask tough questions, Steve has always been fair, compassionate & thoughtful. I’ve appreciated being interviewed by him over the years. All the best in your retirement, Steve.
.@GaryBurrill has been a tireless advocate for so many people & a strong voice on many important issues facing NS. As @NSNDP Leader, he held the gov to account with kindness & compassion, focused on making life better for all NSians. Thank you, Gary - all the best in the future.
I’m saddened to hear of the passing of Roger Bacon, Nova Scotia’s 21st Premier. I have always appreciated Roger’s wisdom and our conversations, and I’m glad we had this photo taken during my last visit. I extend my condolences to Roger’s family and loved ones.
Nova Scotians who received their first dose of the vaccine are encouraged to move up their second dose appointment. The sooner we get double-dosed, the sooner we can better protect our loved ones and communities. If you haven’t booked your vaccine appointment, please do so today.
I got my second shot today in Bridgetown at the firehall. A big thank you to the Bridgetown Pharmasave for running this clinic and to the Lion’s Club for their logistical support.
Wishing all fathers, and those who take on the role, a wonderful day. Happy Father’s Day.
Some news from me - I’m excited to be joining @CoxandPalmer. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to continue doing what I’m passionate about – growing our province’s economy and population – from right here at home.…
Peter Christie & I served together from ‘03-‘06 but he was a friend long before that. He & Joan were strong believers in their community & very supportive of their friends. Our family is grateful to have received their kindness. Our condolences to Joan, Scott, Matthew & families.
Thank you to Dr. @StrangRobert for the shirt. Ready for the playoffs. #GoHabsGo
Wishing all mothers, and those who take on the role, a wonderful day. Happy Mother’s Day.
We all enjoy a good laugh, especially to lighten the mood during these tough times. But it is important that we listen to Dr. Strang & Premier @IainTRankin & continue to follow the latest restrictions. This is a time to support one another & be kind. We can do this - together.…

I’ve already got mine, Dr. @StrangRobert, but for those that don’t, listen to the Good Doctor: this is not the time.
Donald Cameron was a dedicated public servant. He represented the people of Pictou East for nearly two decades and served as Nova Scotia’s 22nd Premier. My thoughts are with Mr. Cameron’s family and friends.
Today is Doctors Day - a time to recognize and celebrate physicians for their contributions. I want to thank all doctors who have been working tirelessly throughout this pandemic to keep Nova Scotians safe, especially my friend, Dr. @StrangRobert, and his public health team.
I would like to thank my constituents and all Nova Scotians for your kindness and your support over the years.
I want to thank the people of Annapolis for giving me the privilege of representing them for almost two decades. It was an honour to serve as Premier for the past seven, and equally as important to me to be the MLA for Annapolis.
Today, I gave notice to the Speaker’s Office that effective May 3rd, I will resign my seat as MLA for Annapolis.
I’m so proud of how Nova Scotians demonstrated their resilience last year by standing together and supporting one another. We will never forget what happened, but it will not define us. We are #NovaScotiaStrong.
Today, we remember and honour the lives that were lost in Nova Scotia on April 18 and 19, 2020. My thoughts are with their families and loved ones.
Today my colleague and friend, Minister Chuck Porter, MLA for Hants West, announced he will not be re-offering in the next election. I have always admired Chuck’s work ethic and his commitment to his constituents. He put his community first and stayed true to his values.
I was honoured to have Chuck join our team and become a member of my cabinet. I will forever be grateful and proud to have served with Minister Porter. Wishing you, Chuck, and Leslie much happiness in your next chapter.
Thank you to the health care professionals administering the shots across our province and all those involved in the rollout.
Getting the #COVID19NS vaccine is a quick and easy way to protect yourself and those around you, and I was happy to do my part by getting my first #AstraZeneca dose today at the Wolfville Lions Club.
Saddened to hear NS has lost one of its most influential leaders. Mr. Sobey was a strong businessman who believed in rural Canada. He also believed in the arts & supported many Canadian artists through his philanthropy. I send my condolences to his family.…
Gerald, David & Osborne, friends of mine who live at Mountains & Meadows in Bridgetown, stopped by to wish me a happy retirement & deliver a nice card & fruit basket from all of the residents. I want to send a big thanks to everyone at the Meadows for their friendship & kindness.
It was great to catch up with David Herle and chat about life, politics and the state of the federation for the @TheHerleBurly podcast. Tune in to the episode here:….
We’ve also worked hard to slow the spread of #COVID19NS and keep each other safe. While there is a lot to be proud of, there is still more work to do, and we need to remain vigilant as the vaccination program continues to roll out.
I would like to thank Nova Scotians for their support over the last seven years. We’ve accomplished a lot together - we’ve made investments and policy decisions that will have a positive impact on our province and its people for generations to come.
Congratulations to Nova Scotia’s 29th Premier, @IainTRankin, and his cabinet, on being sworn in today.
I thank Nova Scotians for their patience while waiting for the vaccine, and for keeping one another safe by following public health measures.
Today marks an important step in our vaccine rollout with the first community clinic for people age 80 and older. I know we are all looking forward to seeing clinics across the province in the coming weeks and months.
