My column this week looks at how changes in monetary policy will affect Ireland in the near term, but I can't help re-iterating, yet again, *the* key policy problem we're going to have in 10, 20, 30 and 40 years, of a near asset-less group of aging people. thecurrency.news/articles/80792…

Another interesting example of the quote tweet as terrible UX. Two politicians quote-tweeting each other, and replying to one another across (now) two threads, when obviously one would do. twitter.com/sasanovak48/st…
4. Make lists great again. They are the power-user feature, and they are 5x harder to use than necessary. Suggest lists for me to look at. Right now I have @gavinsblog's Ukraine list pinned and it's a game changer.
3. Kill structural features of the platform that promote abuse, for example, quote tweets. I use these normally when it's funny but have seen them used in all the wrong ways. I'd be in favour of time-limited retweets too, killing the popular tweets, recommended stuff, all of it.
2. Have people pay a little bit for it for some extra features. It's amazing this company has 100% of the world's leaders on it for hours every day, all news pivots around it, and it isn't 10x bigger. I'd happily pay for a better experience.
1. Recognise there are loads of good things about the platform when you use it to learn things. The search feature is probably the best thing about it.
We should thank Elon Musk because his shit posting has us all thinking about how to fix twitter again. Like everyone else, I have some thoughts. Well, six throughts.

A comment I often hear: oil/gas embargo has little effect on Putin’s ability to continue the war. This is wrong. In fact, the correct calculus: each marginal euro received from energy exports to Europe contributes exactly one euro to the war in Europe, as simple as that. 1/n

Solid thinking from @stephenkinsella in @thecurrency. My view: Climate change, China becoming the worlds workshop (thnks Wall st) & opening Arctic seaway means a new status quo. We do not have a good decision process for this.
