Our state has a broken health care system. Yet, Brian Kemp has made it worse by not expanding Medicaid and by passing an extreme and dangerous six-week abortion ban. Kemp is a danger to women and families.

Georgia is in a health care crisis. ➡️ 82 counties do not have an OB/GYN physician. ➡️ 18 counties do not have a general family doctor. ➡️ 9 counties do not have a physician at all.

No matter who you are, no matter where you live, we live in the United States and our ability to control our bodies should be protected regardless of state lines.

#InvisibleStorm is an unflinching (and surprisingly funny) memoir by my friend @JasonKander that rejects the culture of shame and denial around mental health, esp. for vets. Royalties go to fight veteran suicide and veteran homelessness at @VCP_HQ. invisiblestormbook.com/letsgo
Brian Kemp’s dangerous six-week abortion ban is DISQUALIFYING. His #CriminalCarry law that makes it easier for criminals to carry loaded, concealed weapons is DISQUALIFYING. He is not fit to lead. That's why we are going to elect @staceyabrams the next Georgia governor.

Every day, countless lives are lost in Georgia and across our country due to senseless acts of gun violence. Gun violence is an epidemic and we must take action to ensure safety for our families and communities. Read my plan to improve gun safety here: staceyabrams.com/policy/#gun-sa…
I had a great time celebrating #4thofJuly with the folks in Dunwoody today. Thank you for sharing your stories with me. This Independence Day, may we recommit ourselves in fighting for the values that have built our nation.
On this Independence Day, patriotism calls us to action: to defend equality and justice despite those who would deny our rights to both. Protest. Vote. Make demands of those who borrow our power. Serve. We are one nation and our work must make it so. Happy #4thOfJuly
As a woman of faith, I know that my faith should never be used as a sword to strike down others but instead as a shield to protect. I cannot strike down another person’s rights simply because I don’t agree.
I was thrilled to get the chance to celebrate culture and lift up Black joy at #ESSENCEFest in New Orleans today. Together, know that we achieve greatness when we root ourselves in righteousness and truth.
Dublin, remember that we’ve got the power to change stories. This November, we can — and will – win this election.
It’s past time for Brian Kemp to commit to suspending the gas tax through the end of the year. Georgians — this weekend, look out for our new ad at a gas pump near you:

The latest poll numbers show that we are TIED with Brian Kemp. I need your help to fight back his dangerous agenda. I need your help to mobilize supporters. I need your help to lift up Georgians across our state.
At midnight tonight, our fundraising numbers for the first public report of the general election will be locked in. Georgia families are counting on us to win in November. I am counting on you to make clear that we have what it takes to win. Donate now: secure.actblue.com/donate/afg22-s…
Women do not have access to an OB/GYN in 82 of Georgia’s 159 counties. Under Brian Kemp’s anti-abortion law that will soon take effect, by the time they would be able to access care, it could be too late to get help.
We live in a state where the person who took an oath to protect us has done nothing but put us in more danger. We deserve better than this.
June 30 is an important moment for our campaign. Our fundraising numbers for the first public report of the general election will be released to everyone. We set a goal of raising $1M so we can reach voters across the state. Can you chip in today? secure.actblue.com/donate/afg22-s…

Georgia — abortion is still legal in our state up to 20 weeks. As of today, Kemp’s six-week ban is not yet in effect. If you have an appointment to have an abortion, keep your appointment and call your provider.
Savannah, thank you for your warm welcome and for your support. The stakes are high in this election, but I believe in our collective power to make change.
Dublin, your energy was a reminder of what is possible for One Georgia. Together, we’ve got the power to change lives, lift up our communities and ensure that Georgians across our state can thrive and succeed regardless of where you live.

Local leaders are the cornerstone and the future of our state. As governor, it would be my privilege to partner with them as we build #OneGeorgia where folks across our state can thrive and succeed.
I was honored to speak at @gacities’ annual convention today, a gathering of city and local officials in Georgia.
We talked to a few Georgia women to hear their reactions in the aftermath of Roe being overturned, how they are personally impacted and why reproductive health care matters to them.
Abortion under the care of a medical professional is safe. However, once Georgia’s 6-week abortion ban goes into effect, those seeking abortion care will have few options.
Low income, Black, brown and rural women (especially those who live in our 82 counties without an OBGYN) and LGBTQ+ people are particularly vulnerable at this time. We can — and must — fight back and protect them.
Last week, Brian Kemp immediately asked the Court to allow his extreme and dangerous six-week abortion ban to take effect. Six weeks is before most women know they are pregnant. Let me be clear: His ban will not stop abortions. It will only stop safe abortions.
After SCOTUS’ decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Brian Kemp moved immediately to implement his six-week abortion ban because he wants women across Georgia to lose their rights. Kemp does not intend to protect us. We need new leadership in Georgia.
Let me be clear: This won't put an end to abortions. It will only put an end to safe abortions.
We will fight for safe access to reproductive healthcare. We will make Georgia safe for women.
Will you chip in to ensure reproductive rights are protected in Georgia? secure.actblue.com/donate/afg22-s…
We cannot count on the courts to protect our rights. We need to elect leaders who will defend women — especially poor, Black, brown and rural women — and LGBTQ+ people whose rights are at risk. As governor, I will defend reproductive rights in Georgia.
What has been done with abortion rights is an assault on our liberties — but we can and will fight back. We can organize. We can vote. Know that together, if we unite, good will win.
Unlike my opponent, I have a consistent record of advancing a comprehensive plan on criminal justice reform and public safety. By making smart choices with our budget and enacting smart policy, we can build #OneGeorgia with safe, thriving communities. staceyabrams.com/publicsafety
Seven years ago, SCOTUS rightly affirmed the right to marriage for same-sex couples. But SCOTUS just denied constitutional privacy, which undergirds legal equality for the LGBTQ+ community. Women, LGBTQ+, POC — our rights are bound together and we must protect them. Together.
The overturning of Roe is the direct result of decades of strategy to strip women of reproductive healthcare and full autonomy over our bodies. As governor, I will veto any anti-choice legislation and work to roll back existing anti-choice legislation.
In the days and months ahead, remember that we are not alone. Believe in our ability to protect one another. Lean into our capacity to defend our right in the streets and at the ballot box. And know that together, if we unite — good will be won.
We are better than this. We deserve to have our freedoms protected, not stripped away.
The governor of Georgia has made clear he does not care about women or their health care.

Today's question: What do we do now? 1. Work to elect state leaders that will defend women’s rights. 2. Support orgs providing reproductive healthcare to women across Georgia. I am raising money for 5 orgs doing just that. Donate and learn more 🧵secure.actblue.com/donate/afg22-e…l
