Most plant forms are whole or partial fractals and looking at their silhouettes against the sky has been shown to alleviate stress. Here’s some fractally hog weed action if you can’t get outside just now.

How stress makes the symptoms of PMS/PMDD worse & the link between neurodivergence & PMS/PMDD. Hope it helps πŸ‘‡twitter.com/silverpebble/s…G
So ropey that it was a simile πŸ‘Ž
Someone once threw some herbs in my eyes. It didn't blind me but I'm now parsley sighted. You heard.

I’m certain neurodivergent wiring affects PMS/PMDD too and I’m going to hoover up that research next. Stay tuned for more β€˜that explains a LOT’ science from your annoying depressive Twitter pal.
...symptoms will be more severe. If, like me, those symptoms are tough to begin with then they’ll worsen. Great. Basically if things are tough PMS/PMDD will be tougher. Thanks human biochemistry πŸ‘πŸ». Sorry if this is relevant to you too but understanding can help a bit.
Sorry, more than 2 tweets... Your body prioritises dealing with stress over fertility-related biochemistry so your progesterone will decrease when a lump of stress comes along. Most PMS/PMDD is caused by lower progesterone levels than are needed. If stress burgles more then...
If you suffer from severe PMS/PMDD/hormonal gobshite(it me) this may be a revelation:if your stress levels increase, your body produces more stress hormone(cortisol). No surprise there. BUT you make some extra cortisol by converting progesterone molecules to cortisol molecules...
Something that helps when my mood plummets is applying my old job skills (scientist, analyst) to the β€˜data’ to try to figure out why. I look at what’s happened to me in the last wk & hit academic research hard to see if I can find clues to the presence of the shit neuron soup 1/2
My gf and I went to a turtle puns class yesterday. It tortoise nothing.

I'm learning that recovering from a breakdown isn't a gentle climb, it's more like an ant trying to scale a pile of pebbles. One day the summit's sort of visible, the next, like today, a dingy crevice appears, but imma keep walking & try to use fewer ropey metaphors.

Boom! My Brexity "nah, it will be great" brother just uttered these words to me: "You were right, sis, and I was wrong - it was all a pack of lies and I fell for it." Believe me, I take no delight in the predicted outcomes, but it is gratifying to hear Brexiter remorse.

Imma print a grey hoodie next, plus a massive scarf using part of a brushed cotton sheet. Hoping the doyenne of cyanotypes Anna Atkins would approve.

Lovely morning ringing the first woodland site of the winter. It exceeded expectations with an October record of 6 Bramblings, along with 7 Lesser Redpoll, Marsh Tit, Nuthatch and plenty of Coal Tits. Could it be a good Brambling winter?? I hope so!

Sadness is rife just now. It may sound tragic but research shows that expressing gratitude for things that aren't terrible induces dopamine & serotonin release. Small good things today: Found some beautiful wild toadflax A bee visited it Seeing both gave me a proper lift You?

@silverpebble I was given a painting today, done by my great-grandfather. His way of painting snow is so familiar, so much a part of my childhood, it’s like getting a piece of old time.

I make my photos when I feel low as the sight of something pleasing, of plant forms & the colours pink & yellow can alleviate anxiety & lift mood. Feeling rubbish so I searched my camera roll for this collection of autumn leavesπŸ‘‡πŸ». Posting it here in case you need it toobx

Taken a leaf out of @silverpebble β€˜s book, pardon the pun, and collected up some autumn leaves from my favourite tree. Not sure what type it is, and wondering if anyone can help identify it? Dog snoot not included.

This sounds craft braggy, but I’m sad a lot so am trying to hold on to stuff I’m good at and say it out loud.
My neurodivergent brain often makes life hard but daughter’s PE bag was broken & she told me half an hour ago. Did A Think, then made an elasticated replacement from a reusable shopping bag with an added 1- or 2- handle functionality in 20 mins. I don’t celebrate my brain enough.
I take no leave of you insomnia, I send no compliments to your mother. You deserve no such attention. I am most seriously displeased.
