I have informed the Valley Metro Boards that after 5 1/2 years as CEO, I'll be retiring in the next year. It's been a wonderfully crazy ride, but it's a good time to move on to the next adventure....whatever that might be.
I knew it was too good to be true! The Phx Suns playoff curse lives! Ced Ceballos, Danny Manning, Joe Johnson, Boris Diaw…..and now Chris Paul! All critical knocked out via injury, etc during playoff run. It’s tough being a Suns fan! 😞
With this in mind, I’d like to recognize and celebrate the men and women in our transit operations who have shown up from day one of the crisis at great personal risk to provide uninterrupted bus, rail and paratransit services to the community. You are all heroes in my mind.
Last week we celebrated the activation of 3500 new solar canopies at our Mesa Bus Operations & Maintenance Facility! These panels will save on energy and fuel costs- another step towards creating a more #sustainable system for generations to come.
In the fight against COVID-19, remember those on the front lines keeping critical services going and helping us stay safe: esp medical profs, first responders, and transit operators and technicians who get the others to their jobs. @valleymetro@PhoenixTransit
