Wildland makes it easier for users to decide how their information is secured. Why? @rootkovska: “If you are a reductionist and believe that you are essentially a thread of information, it’s easy to understand that information is really what matters”. tinyurl.com/4zyus8rd
We've just released and open-sourced @WildlandIO :)
We've been working on it in a stealth mode for nearly two years. This is quite a milestone for the whole team!

As work on Wildland's beta release intensifies, we're expanding our team.
We are looking for a skilled public communicator and knowledgeable digital sovereignty evangelist, for a full-time role to begin immediately.

I think this shows the PITA with chat apps today is _not_ lack of common network protocol (like SMTP), but lack of agreed *storage* formats/conventions.
If we could enforce stronger separation between the apps logic vs data storage, we would be able to switch apps easier.
So you want to ditch WhatsApp? You convinced ur friends to install Signal? You even thought them how to export your chats from WhatsApp?
Only these chats now in some unapproachable ZIP file, stored somewhere, not accessible from the New Chat App... Pity it's not like email, eh?
"I expect that wearing a mask will become part of my daily life, moving forward, even after a vaccine is deployed." This is just crazy. Many epidemiologists think we need to do social distancing forever. reason.com/2020/12/04/epi…
Women's strikes against anti-abortion laws continue in Poland... Last night police used gas against the protesters (mostly comprising women). An un-uniformed unit of police mixed into the crowd and started beating people. Looks like the gov is starting to loose their temper... twitter.com/MichalSzczerba…
Perfect excuse to siphon off massive amounts of data on people to sell to the highest bidder. What's worse are the companies/schools that want to force you to use this malware. twitter.com/rootkovska/sta…
Oh, and this all happening during a semi-lockdown in the whole country! Gatherings of 5+ ppl are banned, restaurants have been closed, covid statistics are soaring, etc etc. No matter! Ppl felt they must protest still. Imagine the crowds if these measures were not in place!
100k+ Poles protested yesterday in Warsaw against the new anti-abortion law, the polarizing conservative government (PiS), and the catholic ethics which is attempted to be enforced onto us. 100,000+ people! Huge! More protests planned next week..
Progress is hard won, but easily lost.
Strong women’s rights are an asset and an achievement the whole of Europe must be proud of.
We should push forward, not backwards.
Backsliding is not an option for a continent that aims for winning the future.

Over 10k people went out for spontaneous "walks" last night in Warsaw to protest against the new anti-abortion law. Similar demonstrations happened in many other cities in PL. More actions expect on Monday...

Imagine you live on Planet A: the sun is shining, people are happy, enjoy their lives. One day you learn about Planet B: its inhabitants live in constant fear, suffer from sicknesses, imprisoned in small cages.
Will that info affect your happiness?
