They also shared that there are nearly 20,000 educators that identify as Dreamers. If DACA was repealed, the teacher shortage in this country would become even greater.

Today I met with 2 Dreamers from Laredo. Both of them are high school teachers in Laredo at UISD.
They shared with me that they have lived their entire lives in South Texas—and have no family nor home to go back to if deported.

But the DACA program has its limitations. The 5th District Court of Appeals will soon hear a case on the future of DACA.
We need permanent, bipartisan legislation so that no Dreamer has to live from expiration date to expiration date. Or court ruling to court ruling.

Today is the 10th anniversary of DACA. This initiative has been instrumental in allowing young immigrants to pursue the American Dream—without fear of deportation.

I secured $1.5 million for Gateway Community Health Center in Laredo through a @HHSGov grant.
This funding will support the organization as it provides much-needed health care to underserved communities in my district.

Migrants that are not granted immediate protections will face an immigration judge for further review.
