From my family to yours, Happy Father’s Day!
Congratulations to @CBPSouthTexas for seizing this large haul of illegal narcotics. Proud of our law enforcement officers that work everyday to secure our border and keep our country safe.…
They also shared that there are nearly 20,000 educators that identify as Dreamers. If DACA was repealed, the teacher shortage in this country would become even greater. For our children, and for future generations, I call on my Senate colleagues to find a solution. (4/4)
Today I met with 2 Dreamers from Laredo. Both of them are high school teachers in Laredo at UISD. They shared with me that they have lived their entire lives in South Texas—and have no family nor home to go back to if deported. (3/4)
But the DACA program has its limitations. The 5th District Court of Appeals will soon hear a case on the future of DACA. We need permanent, bipartisan legislation so that no Dreamer has to live from expiration date to expiration date. Or court ruling to court ruling. (2/4)
Today is the 10th anniversary of DACA. This initiative has been instrumental in allowing young immigrants to pursue the American Dream—without fear of deportation. (1/4)
I will continue to do so. Hardworking families in Texas, and across the country, are suffering due to inflation and record high gas prices. I look forward to working with both parties to ensure we focus our energy on jobs and lower prices at the pump. (4/4)
Let me be clear, I fully support the Oil and Gas industry. My track record in Congress demonstrates this. From lifting the ban on crude oil exports to eliminating unnecessary and burdensome regulations for small refiners, I work every day to lower the price at the pump. (3/4)
In fact, the Oil and Gas industry employs over 200,000 hardworking Americans, contributes millions to our economy, and (when championed) keeps the United States energy independent—all of which is vital for our national security. (2/4)
The Biden Administration’s recent letter to refiners does not resolve the issue at hand. What we need is dialogue. We need real solutions. (1/4)
With June being Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness month, we'd like to thank @RepCuellar for supporting Starr County and our endeavors at GAP-Net site El Faro in helping #ENDALZ with Alzheimer's research here in the Rio Grande Valley communities #gopurple @alzsatx @alzassociation

Thank you Senators @JohnCornyn and @ChrisMurphyCT for your continued leadership. Texas, and America, thanks you.
Today, the Senate announced common sense, bipartisan gun reforms that support responsible gun ownership. I look forward to passing this bill expeditiously so we can keep our families and neighbors safe.…
The Texas delegation stood next to our friend and colleague @RepTonyGonzales, on the House floor, for a moment of silence to remember the victims of the Uvalde massacre.…
I had a meaningful conversation with @McConaughey discussing Uvalde and how we can work together to keep Texan, and American, families safe. Texans can pave the way for national reforms. Hook ‘Em Horns
In May, our economy added 390,000 jobs and the unemployment rate stayed near historic lows—following the fastest single-year drop on record. America is getting back to work!
The @US_FDA has announced that it has secured additional baby formula. I am committed to ensuring that you and your families have the proper nutritional resources to stay healthy. Look out for this enhanced supply, on store shelves near you, over the next several weeks.
Randy Aguilar has been an intern at my Laredo Office for the last few months and has done a wonderful job. Today was Randy's last day in Laredo, but he will be joining my full time staff in DC. Congratulations Randy!
Uvalde will be in my heart and on my mind, next week, as I head back to Washington, DC. Violent crime and gun violence are unacceptable. Too many families and communities have been torn apart. We need change.
I stand with my good friend, @RepTonyGonzales, and the Uvalde/South Texas community. #UvaldeUnited…
This morning my staff gave a Capitol tour to 40 students from Mary Help of Christians School in Laredo. Welcome to DC! We hope you have a great time! If you are a constituent of TX-28 and visiting DC, please reach out to my staff for tours of the Capitol and WH.
This morning, my family and I attended a Memorial Day Celebration at the City of Laredo Cemetery. Thank you to all our veterans who have sacrificed so much for our country. Happy Memorial Day to everyone!
I am heartbroken over the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School. 15 families, the South Texas community and the entire nation are in mourning. Let us pray for peace. Let us come together for our neighbors that need support. And let us remember the bright lives we lost today.
I will always fight to bring more federal dollars home to our district. Let’s continue working together to make Texas-28 a great place to live. (3/3)

The judge’s decision to block the termination of Title 42 is great news for border communities. I look forward to continuing this conversation as the pandemic progresses.…
I secured $1.5 million for Gateway Community Health Center in Laredo through a @HHSGov grant. This funding will support the organization as it provides much-needed health care to underserved communities in my district. A great win for Texas-28!
Going to the grocery store & seeing empty shelves with no infant formula in sight is distressing for any parent. Today, @AppropsDems & @HouseDemocrats are voting for a bill that will help #FeedOurInfants by providing the FDA with the resources it needs to address this shortage.

It's time to support TSA's frontline workers who keep our skies secure - but lack the rights of other Feds. The #RightsForTheTSAWorkforce Act will provide its 60k workers: ✅25%+ increase in pay under Title 5 ✅Full collective bargaining rights ✅Independent appeal resolution
Each day, roughly 15k firefighters stand ready to risk their lives for the health and safety of our communities. That is why I cosponsored the Federal Firefighters Fairness Act of 2022 to expand firefighters’ access to compensation and benefits when they are hurt on the job
Americans are getting back to work in record numbers. Today, we learned that the economy created 428,000 jobs in April while the unemployment rate stands at 3.6%. Congress is helping Americans get back to work!
The FY22 appropriations funding bill includes many provisions to combat the climate crisis. As a senior member of the @AppropsDems committee, I am committed to ensuring that we leave this planet a better, safer, and more prosperous place for our children and grandchildren.
Today is Yom HaShoah—Holocaust Remembrance Day. Today we remember the 6 million Jews who were murdered in the Holocaust. We must recommit ourselves to stamping out antisemitism that continues to target Jews in Israel and around the world. Today we say out loud— Never Again.
These pictures show the effects of border patrol facilities that are overcrowded and overwhelmed with the sheer number of migrants arriving at our southern border. Title 42 is critical to ensuring the health and safety of migrants, law enforcement, and border residents.
We were honored to announce the completion of a major #Broadband connectivity project for @WebbCounty, yesterday! We feel lucky to have partners like @RepCuellar and our other community partners as we help #Rural #Texas get connected!

I sent a letter to @GregAbbott_TX urging him to immediately halt the duplicative maintenance inspections at our southern border. The @TxDPS inspections slow down commercial traffic and affect the supply chain across the US. We need real border solutions, not unnecessary tactics
The new Supreme Court Justice, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, will serve our country with dignity. She is the most deserving. I am excited that children in my district, from San Antonio down to Laredo, will now be able to see themselves in the highest court. Congratulations!…
Enough is enough. The attack in Tel Aviv today is terrorism- just as were the attacks over the last few weeks. Israelis should not have to worry about terrorism while enjoying dinner at a restaurant. We must stamp out anti-semitism and stand with our Israeli friends. 🇮…Ra

Because of @POTUS’ Executive Order to strengthen the Affordable Care Act and funds from Congress that I supported, nearly 1 million Americans will see lower premiums for their health insurance and thousands of uninsured Americans will gain affordable coverage. #ProtectOurCare
I stand in solidarity with Israel as the country faces another wave of deadly, antisemitic attacks on innocent civilians. I condemn these attacks in the strongest terms and pray for the families of those who were lost. May their memories be a blessing. #StandWithIsrael…
We must support the diabetic community who rely on lifesaving insulin. Tomorrow, I will also vote to cap insulin copays at $35/ month. It’s past time to do the right thing.…
This step will help immediately reduce the immigration court backlog. I will continue working with my colleagues @DHSgov @CBP @CBPSouthTexas to ensure our border communities have the resources they need to address the influx of migrants at our southern border. (2/2)
.@POTUS announced a new rule that allows asylum officers at the US-Mexico border to immediately and efficiently adjudicate claims for asylum. Migrants that are not granted immediate protections will face an immigration judge for further review. (1/2)
March is National Women’s History Month. I joined a bipartisan resolution to honor women’s involvement in history. This year, the resolution celebrates “Providing Healing, Promoting Hope.” To all our mothers, sisters, friends, and colleagues — thank you!
It’s more important now than ever for the United States to achieve mineral dominance to secure our energy supply chain needs. That's why I introduced a bipartisan bill today with @RepAdrianSmith @RepGonzalez and @RepCuellar to ban uranium imports from Russia.
