Digital tools exist that would allow safe, inclusive voting to take place - we should be using these all the time, but especially during a pandemic. Electronic voting does nothing to compromise the sanctity of the voting process - it's a common sense use of technology. (2/2)
Today's result against remote voting is disenfranchisement, pure and simple. A parliament that claims it cannot function without excluding a substantial portion of its members is not a democracy. (1/2)

While the Pirate Party welcomes joined-up thinking in the delivery of government policies, the secrecy surrounding this process raises red flags. Government should always be transparent and accountable to citizens with its use of information.
The government's sudden scramble to collect mass amounts of user data from its GOV .UK platform raises a number of serious ethical and legal questions. More transparency is sorely needed from the government over the reasons for collecting this data and how it will be used. twitter.com/BuzzFeedUK/sta…

One of the tragedies of our day is seeing arguments won or lost based on who cries ‘victim’ the loudest. Valuing truth is increasingly passé.
