Retweeted by Nicole Crites Another answer is more practical. One hour west of Yuma is the city of Mexicali. It has a decent-sized airport. Some migrants told me they flew from their origin countries to Mexico City or Tijuana, then to Mexicali. Yuma is close. And safe.

That was 25,579 last month. These people become eligible for asylum consideration. That’s many more than the much larger Tucson Sector.
