4/4 What we need now, more than ever, is compassion and kindness. We need to be there, together. We are all treaty people.
3/4 There is no place for hatred or violence in this journey of reconciliation. The pain and trauma people are feeling right now is very real. And we need to give people the space to move through their grief.
2/4 Vandalizing and defacing churches and monuments not the action we need. It creates more division and anger at a time when we need the opposite. Worse, depriving people of a space that can provide peace and healing is just wrong.
1/4 Yesterday, I spoke of reconciliACTION: doing the work of reconciliation with indigenous peoples. We should be, every day, committing ourselves to building a path forward for us all. We cannot continue on this path of division.
2/2 On this day, and every day forward, we must stand together as a city and nation, committed to a future that takes action against racism and discrimination!
It is an honour to speak at today’s @USAYcalgary vigil for the children who did not come home from our residential schools. Gathered in @cityofcalgary Prince’s Island Park we reflect on our past, and look forward towards our journey in reconciliation.
This year, after careful and thoughtful reflection, as well as conversations with community leaders, we have chosen to respectfully modify our Canada Day and fireworks programing. 1/10

This heat wave can make us feel tired, hot and uncomfortable. Take cool showers or baths, or go to an air-conditioned public space like a shopping mall, theatre or a recreation centre. Want to cool down? Check out our map with a few places you can go to help you beat the heat.

We know our lawns are thirsty💧, but did you know that established lawns can handle dry stretches remarkably well. Lawns can go dormant (ie. brown) but bounce back & turn green when we receive a good rainfall. What are some ways you’re helping to conserve water outdoors?
