Civil disagreement is welcome. Anyone making it personal will be blocked.
We can be pro-Ukraine, anti-Russia, and still acknowledge that NATO should not risk a global thermonuclear war to defend a non-NATO country.
The best way to prevent nuclear war is to allow your field of vision to get so clouded by hyper-moralism and ideological zealotry that you no longer have the ability to rationally evaluate the threat environment

Unfortunately, the game theory of nuclear brinkmanship favors the player that needs the win more.

If Russia uses nuclear weapons, all of humanity will turn its back on Russia.
Many players are in iterated games where they care about their reputation and, because contractualizing commitments is slow and costly, they need their repeat counterparties to understand that there is an industry culture of promises and promises made in that culture *are kept.*

@naval @punk6529 Where there's a voltage, the current takes the path of least resistance. I like to think of reality somewhat like that. What has to happen in time, will. If one offers low resistance and more presence, it can happen through them.

To be clear student loan forgiveness would make sense if the *university* paid the bill. Without pain for the university they have no incentive to change the worthless degrees they charge for. Charging $100K equally for engineering degree vs humanities is insane.

The modern world is managed by bureaucracies staffed with average people. Bureaucrats pile on rule after rule to keep the below-average from hurting themselves or others. Smart & capable individuals need to either opt-out of society or win big before the system suffocates them.
