The selfish person realizes that happiness belongs to the self-less.
The selfish reason to forgive is so that you can move on with the rest of your life (but you can’t fake it or rush it).
The selfish reason to be calm is that anger burns you first before burning the other. A cool and calm person is more effective than an angry and agitated one.
The selfish reason to be honorable is that self-esteem is just the reputation that you have with yourself. You’ll always know.
The selfish reason to be thrifty is that living far below your means frees you from obsessing over money.
The selfish reason to be faithful or dutiful is that it gives you something to care about more than your self.
The selfish reason to be humble is that the more seriously you take yourself, the unhappier you’re going to be.
The selfish reason to be temperate is that overindulgence desensitizes you to the subtle everyday pleasures of life.
The selfish reason to be ethical is that it attracts the other ethical people in the network.
The selfish reason to love is that it feels better to be in love than to be loved (but don’t expect much back).
The selfish reason to be honest is to clear the mind of exhausting lies and to navigate towards people and situations where you can be completely authentic.

Inflation = printing money. Period. Prices are measured in dollars. If we create too many dollars, that causes the value of the dollar to fall in terms of goods and services. This “inflation” started 18 months ago. Shortages and supply chain issues are a separate issue.

The biggest ego trip is the trip of being “a good person.”
A life spent looking for shortcuts is a long road to nowhere.
When you ask a great master or a real expert for advice, they give you seemingly vague or non-specific answers, they shun being prescriptive. What they think matters is not what you believe matters. Further, they know you will misinterpret a specific answer.

Ultimately, blockchains are revolutions, and their success depends on the number of revolutionaries, not users.

3 hallmarks of ignorance in free speech debates: 1) Claiming that blocking someone on Twitter is inconsistent with free speech advocacy. 2) Conflating controls on what *adults* can say and hear with debates over what *schoolchildren* are taught. 3) "Fire in a crowded theater."

If @elonmusk manages to liberate Twitter, efforts to control free speech will move to the Apple / Google level, and then to the national level.
The prophecy isn’t fulfilled until Twitter bans Elon, and then a few days later he becomes CEO and manually reactivates his own account, like some kind of shitposting Jesus.
