We know from direct experience from operating in British Columbia where we have two facilities, that putting a price on carbon works. BC reached its first greenhouse gas emissions reduction target of 6% below 2007 levels by 2012, as set out in the Province’s Climate Action Plan.
We see the impact of climate change to our business and to the hundreds of American farm families where we currently source many of our ingredients. Droughts and severe weather in California have impacted our ability to source organic raisins, rice and almonds domestically.
More than 75 companies, including Nature’s Path, met with a group of federal lawmakers in Washington, DC today to discuss meaningful climate legislation, including the creation of a tax on carbon emissions. #CarbonTax
