(5) There are other key sources of funds that were silent among the entrepreneurs in the study. These included the government and NGOs. Thus, there's a need for govt and other dev partners to focus much more on the MSMEs’ support agenda in order to enhance sustainable development
(4) At times the lending interest rates hit 45% and with a lack of enforceable regulatory framework, little hope remains for the small business ecosystem.
(3) Lack of access to long-term credit for small enterprises thus forces them to rely on high-cost short-term finances which in turn hinder their very growth. This is the very reason why business failure in the micro and small business categories is skyrocketing in Kenya.
(2) The variations in sources of funds could be attributed to urban trends in borrowing where banks are readily available as compared Micro-Financial Institutions which are predominantly in rural setups. There's also some level of doubt that pple have on the authenticity of MFIs.
(1) In a decade’s old study that was conducted on Small and Medium Enterprises in Nairobi Central Business District, the main sources of funds for entrepreneurs included commercial banks (52%), Micro-Financial Institutions (MFIs, 6%) and personal, friends and families (42%).

(11) The glorious benefit of a habit is that it converts something that requires a lot of willpower and focus into something that becomes automatic and often outside of our conscious thought. ~ Tynan
