I love and admire Simone Biles and our Olympians. Beyond their determination and sacrifice, they evidence the greatness of the human spirit, in victory and in defeat. I take pride in them, not so much for the medals they win as for the grace, humanity & character of their hearts.

The nation will remember Mike Enzi as a man of integrity and character. We would all do well to follow his example of treating others with respect and dignity. Ann and I share our profound condolences and sincere prayers for his family and loved ones.

Celebrating the 4th with my family—nothing better!
The Administration is promoting #ChildTaxCreditAwarenessDay, but POTUS’s plan is just temporary and adds to the debt. My plan makes a permanent commitment to American families and is fully paid for. We have the opportunity for a lasting, historic achievement if we work together. twitter.com/potus/status/1…

The greatest joy of my life is being a father to my five boys, and now a grandfather to 25. Wishing all of the dads out there a happy #FathersDay.
I’m not the “birthing person” of five boys, I’m their mother. With all the sacrifice, joy, commitment, hardship, and love that comes with that. The Biden Administration diminishing motherhood to “birthing person” is simply insulting to all moms.

Some policies that can realistically stem the illegal immigration crisis: - Completion of the barrier at our southern border - Enact mandatory E-Verify - Require asylum seekers to apply in their home country or the nearest safe location

The VP’s campaign to address the “root causes” of illegal immigration won’t solve our current crisis. We can’t eradicate poverty and crime here at home, let alone across all of Latin America. Our free enterprise system will always lure people in search of better opportunities.

Expelling Liz Cheney from leadership won’t gain the GOP one additional voter, but it will cost us quite a few.
Today, I reflect on the love and support @AnnRomney has shown our five sons. What a blessing she has been in all of our lives. I also remember the values and lessons my mom taught me. To all of the moms out there—happy Mother’s Day!
There’s a groundswell in Congress, and across the political spectrum, to update policies to meet the needs of families. We must work in a bipartisan manner to update policies to help American families, while not penalizing marriage or stay-at-home parents. wsj.com/articles/famil…

With the U.S. birthrate reaching an all-time low, we should remove financial obstacles for families to have kids, encourage families to support themselves, and treat families the same whether both parents work or one stays at home. My op-ed in the @WSJ: wsj.com/articles/famil…
POTUS’ claim that “corporations aren’t paying their fair share” is beneath him. If a company earns a profit, it only goes 3 places: taxes, growing the company, &/or shareholders. $ to shareholders is ALSO taxed, taxing the profit TWICE. The “share” going to taxes includes both. twitter.com/thehill/status…

Every person of conscience draws a line beyond which they will not go: Liz Cheney refuses to lie. As one of my Republican Senate colleagues said to me following my impeachment vote: “I wouldn’t want to be a member of a group that punished someone for following their conscience.”
The infrastructure proposal led by @SenCapito is wisely focused on actual infrastructure and addresses real deficiencies. It’s a responsible, solid step forward, and the Administration should welcome efforts to find common ground and meet us at the negotiating table.

The Administration wants yet another multi-trillion dollar jobs/stimulus bill, this time under the guise of infrastructure. It is Covid, not inadequate stimulus, that slows hiring; infrastructure funding should be strictly targeted to actual infrastructure needs.

It’s hard to find a picture of Fritz Mondale where he isn’t smiling. A cheerful and good soul who will surely be welcomed by a loving God.
I hope that I and others who come to the U.S. Capitol will remember that when we succumb to untruths as a nation, that it can lead to violence and even death as it did on January 6th. nbcnews.com/specials/after…
Officer Billy Evans died a hero, protecting our nation’s Capitol—the home of our democracy. Keeping his children, Abigail and Logan, his loved ones, and his fellow USCP officers in my prayers. Rest in peace, Officer Evans. We will never forget your sacrifice.

My Democrat friends decry the last president for weakening our institutions with his words and behavior but they now cheer the effort to pack the Supreme Court and end the Senate filibuster, which would forever diminish institutions at our Republic’s foundation.
The media had a responsibility to go behind the political rhetoric about the Georgia voting law and provide analysis & truth. Instead, most spread partisan disinformation and inflamed passions & division, further blurring the line between social media & a responsible free press.
Blessed to be spending this Easter with my family.
“He is Risen!” Glorious words of hope and faith for me and for millions upon millions around the world.
Profound gratitude for those who protect our nation’s Capitol and who keep us safe, and profound sadness for Officer Billy Evans who has lost his life doing so.
A Senate evenly split between both parties and a bare Democratic House majority are hardly a mandate to “go it alone.” The President should live up to the bipartisanship he preached in his inaugural address.
I’m humbled by the Kennedy family’s recognition today. But I see courage every week from my colleagues in the Senate, many of whom make tough decisions to do what they believe is right even though it may be politically unpopular.
Heartbroken over the senseless shooting in Boulder, Colorado. Ten lives that were taken far too soon, including @boulderpolice Officer Eric Talley. Our hearts go out to the victims, their families and loved ones, and the entire Boulder community during this time.
The Biden administration’s lack of understanding of the power of incentives continues to baffle me: allowing unaccompanied minors to stay in the U.S. will yield a flood of unaccompanied minors. It’s de facto ‘child separation policy’.
The Atlanta shootings are heartbreaking. While the motive is still under investigation, the rising violence and discrimination against Asian Americans is abhorrent. These are our fellow citizens who are weathering the pandemic just like the rest of us.
China, under Chinese Communist Party control, does not deserve an Olympic showcase. Let us demonstrate our repudiation of China’s abuses in a way that hurts the CCP rather than American athletes: an economic and diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Olympics. nytimes.com/2021/03/15/opi…
It’s disappointing that the Administration and Democrats chose to push through a partisan plan that borrows money for states that don’t need it and adds to the national debt.

I voted against the $1.9 trillion #COVID19 package because it’s full of wasteful spending unrelated to urgent pandemic needs. Republicans, in good faith, sought to negotiate a compromise bill that would have targeted COVID assistance to those who really need it.

The timetable for opening schools should be dictated by science, not teachers unions. Data does not indicate #COVID19 spikes in schools that are open. Schools that can safely reopen should do so.

.@thejtlewis Not quite: I voted for President Trump’s plan—it was $900 billion and it passed in December. And I oppose President Biden’s $1.9 trillion plan, which is why I, along with 9 other GOP senators, have proposed a $600 billion plan instead. twitter.com/thejtlewis/sta…
Senator Bob Dole has dedicated his life to serving our country. For many of us, he defines the greatest generation. Ann and I will be praying for Bob, Elizabeth, and their loved ones as they face this next challenge. twitter.com/senatordole/st…
The data is in: schools are not superspreaders. Science, not the teachers unions, should guide the timetable for opening. Schools that can safely reopen should do so.

With the sudden passing of Marriott International CEO Arne Sorensen, the world’s largest hotel company loses a leader of vision and achievement. But Arne was not only a brilliant executive, he was also a fundamentally good person.

Alexei Navalny is the face of courage on the planet, as are the thousands of Russians who stand with him. Every champion of truth and freedom salutes them.
Members of the @UTNationalGuard and guard members around the country left their homes, jobs, and loved ones to travel to Washington in service of protecting our Capitol and our nation over the last several weeks. They deserve our greatest respect and our deepest gratitude.

Today’s #InaugurationDay occurs at a difficult time for our nation. I pray that President Biden will call upon our better angels, uniting the nation at a time of division.
Our team prays for strength and comfort for Howie’s loved ones, his brother and sister officers, and all those whose lives he touched.
