Thread. (1/14) If something surprised me in the latest elections, it was not how Putin forged the results, but how obediently the almighty Big Tech turned into his accomplices.

(12/14) I can't help but say that I am terribly upset and disappointed with Pavel Durov @durov from Telegram. I didn't expect to see him on the list of Putin's "blockers".

@restofworld From an Indian doctor taking 1,000 telemedicine calls a day, to an Ethiopian driver pulling 13 hour shifts, the package paints a harrowing vision of labor — precarious, disposable, and demeaning. And the ranks of the gig workers are growing quickly. restofworld.org/2021/the-globa…

Ok it looks like I missed this story in August. “Uber is suffering from an exodus of U.K. drivers to other ride-hailing and delivery apps, leading to longer waiting times and frustrated customers.” bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
Possible reasons: ULEZ putting drivers off; Drivers switched to grocery deliveries!?; Labour shortages?!; anything else!?
Is it just me or is anyone else finding it impossible to order an Uber in London these days?!
