I took a quick look at this Cassava thing, having only paid semi-attention to it for a year or so.
Obviously this is a broader article, and the abbreviated quote is only slightly longer than 'JH says it's crap' - which is fine, as to be expected.

MacBook received a full reset. I spend an hour setting everything back up, downloaded Chrome and Whatsapp for desktop, and immediately got another kernel panic and sudden shutdown of the laptop.
I deleted Whatsapp again; perhaps that is the problem?

Investigation (General Inspectorate of Social Affairs) on the IHU of D. RAOULT:
"serious breaches", "loss of chance for patients", "non-compliance with the Public Health Code", numerous "facts falling under CRIMINAL qualification" twitter.com/Sonic_urticant…
This evokes, more broadly, a very authoritarian functioning of the management of Didier Raoult [...]
Out of 300 employees questioned, around fifty expressed “a situation ranging from discomfort to great suffering related to their professional activity”.
"On the scientific level, the report also denounces poor research practices: the IHU teams certainly publish a lot, but in journals of mediocre quality. This research would often be conducted in a biased manner, again under pressure from management."
Translated text from lepoint.fr/societe/marsei…
"“Patients treated at the IHU are notably given prescriptions that do not comply with the Public Health Code, which is likely to fall under a criminal qualification”, according to an extract from this report cited by La Provence."
Article today in @laprovence (paywalled) about a damning provisional report from the General Inspectorate of Social Affairs (Igas) about biased research and overly authoritarian leadership at the @IHU_Marseille under Didier Raoult. twitter.com/Chamchamat/sta…
What we see with $SAVA is the same pattern over and over. Journals ask for original data and are provided something by Drs. Wang and Burns, but they're quite clearly not really *original* in any reasonable sense and contain far more questions than answers.
PubPeer commenters: There are some unexpected and duplicated coordinates in Table 1.
Authors: "we created this table in Excel and the reason why some numbers were repeated was Excel's problem, not the author's problem"

July is #DisabilityPrideMonth. I recently wrote an article for @NatureMicrobiol about my experiences being a deaf scientist. My hope is that young deaf scientists will have an easier path to success than I did. rdcu.be/cQJym 1/n

$SAVA This email exchange is huge for a few reasons. One, we can see that, just as @MicrobiomDigest suspected, @CUNY did in fact decide after an initial inquiry that a full investigation was warranted. It was reviewed and signed off on by Chancellor Boudreau @Vgbcc1.
This unfortunately happens regularly - and in many fields.
And this Nature study confirmed what many scientist women already knew:
Women are Credited Less in Science than are Men

This has been a frustrating day. Two occurrences where men continue work I started, without involving me.
I would love to know how to handle these situations.
But if I share my frustration, I will be labeled a whiney b**ch.
It is death by a 1000 cuts, and so hard to navigate.
$SAVA Dr. Wang's primary defense against image manipulation claims appears to be that it's unfair to change the contrast in images. Someone should probably point him to the HHS ORI Research Integrity Forensic Tools page...
