I always take one for the team too and let the person know that being tagged in neg reviews can hurt/ruin our day. I’m sure they’ll never read me again but if it can prevent them from tagging another author in the future so be it.
I don’t know why this isn’t common courtesy by now. Readers leave reviews for other readers. If you’re tagging an author it means you want them to read your negative thoughts. We don’t. Reviews are for readers, not for us. Leave your neg reviews but just don’t tag us 🙏🏻
Say it with me again: if you don’t like a book, don’t tag the author in your negative review. No one wants to wake up, look at a pretty post on IG they were tagged in, and then find out the person didn’t like it. It’s a morning ruiner.
A follower randomly messaged me on my IG to say “fuck you!” and when I called her out on it (like, what and why and huh?) she said not to take it personally. Anyway, I’m wearing this necklace today in her honor.
On the plus side I got three messages today that told me my books changed their lives/saved their lives/helped them through grief. Wish people understood the true power of romance novels. twitter.com/metalblonde/st…
@MetalBlonde Do you have a reading list of your hottest & spiciest? I’ve just discovered you when this post appeared for me after one of my favorite authors, CD Reiss, “liked” it. I just bought one of your books. Thank you, for identifying yourself - from this mid-range Boomer.

So funny compared to when living in LA because being a romance author is like normal and applauded. Here, anywhere in baby boomer Canada, but especially this island, it’s this shocking career and how dare you try to make money off of it and have any ambitions.
A neighbor stopped my husband the other day “Oh is your wife the one who writes soft core porn? That’s just what I’ve been told.” And this folks is why I hate living on this island. Righteous gray-faced retirees. Can’t wait to see her and say “yeah and I’m damn good at it.”
It always amazes me that there are people out there that stick up for/suck up to giant corporations instead of the consumers the corps fuck over. Like you really want your dick sucked by like an airline or what?
I used to be happy being a MVP Member of Alaska Air, but I’ll be flying another airline now. I don’t care if your pilots are striking, if you cancel a flight then it’s your job to look after the customer and find them another flight or at the very least, refund them. Wtf 🤬
So @AlaskaAir cancelled my friends flight today. They told her yesterday. Didn’t give her any other email or solution until an hour ago when they said “here’s $100 off your next flight.” WHAT? You don’t rebook her on the next flight or refund her? That is absolute GARBAGE.
Take a guess how many children died by firearms in the USA in 2020. For the first time it exceeded those killed in car accidents. 4537 Many more injured When will the right to bear arms be balanced against the right to live free from fear of slaughter by arms? #GunControlNow

Instead of stars, I think readers should give an “A” for effort, because damn I worked really hard on that book!
Romancelandia would be happy to hear she was watching Bridgerton on her iPad🥂twitter.com/metalblonde/st…B
The guy beside me just took off his shoes so what I’m saying is, I am grateful Canada still mandates masks on flights 👏🏻
She looks the same as every actress looks, like what you see on TV, but much tinier. So classy tho. I love her style.
Saw a woman outside the YVR terminal with a sign that said “Tracee Ross” and I went hmmm I wonder if that’s for who I think it is and yup she’s in first class with me flying to LAX.
(It’s is bday today so it’s gonna be like happy bday weekend i know we’re officially in our forties now but it’s time to go to a rave).
Old but willing. Time to convince the husband.
Women should not have to share horror stories in order to “earn” basic human rights.

I shall activate the rave powers I haven’t activated since 2002…are they still called raves? Omg im too old.
Okay so @OfficialRezz is playing in Vancouver tomorrow. The day after I finish my book that I wrote to @OfficialRezz — who thinks I should get last min tix at PNE Forum and take a sea plane over to Van tomorrow?
I’m alone and I just uploaded my book to Amazon (and yes I’m listening to my girl Rezz)🥂t

So apparently when he doesn’t have to cook for me, the answer is potato chips and if he can’t cook for me, my answer is potato chips,
My husband is the cook but he’s away for the night. I texted him, asking what he’s having for dinner. Sends a pic. It’s a bag of chips. Asks what I am having for dinner. Takes photo. Also a bag of chips 🥔
Me: Oh well, we have a generator so we’re prepared Storm: I’m gonna knock down all the trees on the road so you have no way to get into town to get gas for it! twitter.com/MetalBlonde/st…
I love it when a major windstorm rolls in and all the trees on the island fall down and the power will be out for days and I have to finish a book, send out arcs, and also upload to Amazon 🙃
Okay, I talked about Covid and the weather. I think that’s my Twitter quota for the next few weeks done! Time to finish this book.
I mean, it’s been sunny on our property since Saturday, despite what the forecast says. Only now I’m seeing a few drops of rain. It is unseasonably cold tho.
It’s been sunny since I’ve been back in BC, so you’re welcome, I guess!
(We wear masks when we can & I wish some mask mandates were back ESPECIALLY for the immune-compromised, but again sometimes you can do everything right and you still get it. It’s not a testament of character).
I mean we’ve been on many airplanes, including recently with no mask policy. We’ve been to Disneyland numerous times. Shows, concerts, dinner with friends. Yeah I’m guessing it’s all about being vaxxed and just being lucky. Definitely nothing virtuous about not having had Covid.
It’s pretty amazing my husband & I never got Covid. No we don’t have kids and we work from home and we’re lucky Los Angeles (where we’ve been for 4 months) and BC had mask mandates until recently. Amazing and LUCKY. Also theres’a huge chance we may have had it & not known it 🤷🏼‍♀️
@lingerie_addict @MetalBlonde Have you read her Experiment in Terror series?? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read and re-read them I love them so much.

I just finished reading River of Shadows by @MetalBlonde, and I'm obsessed. It's dark fantasy set in the framework Finnish mythology, and I was almost mad when I got to the end because now I have to wait for the next book. Do recommend. thelingerieaddict.com/90rc (affiliate link)

I’d love it if people in LA could boost this. I’ve got a lost indoor cat that’s been staying with me the last few weeks. I’ve posted it on all the sites but no luck so far, and I’m sure someone is missing them. Collar but no tags and no microchip. I think female but I’m not sure.

Drank 2 margaritas while staring at Brendan Gleeson at the Irish bar beside us without realizing it was him until he left. Four months living in DT Culver City and I finally saw an actor 😂 (My husband sees them all the time, maybe I’m too much a hermit🧐)
My dog is exhausted from being a star ✨Culver/Amazon Studios
Musk needs to stop mainlining mushrooms & thinking he’s an actual God and fix his damn cars instead (this coming from a regretful Tesla owner who is fed up with the shitty navigation/autopilot/electronics).
I can’t say I’ll never use Twitter again because it’s a great place to rant/share news (okay maybe not great, but it’s *a* place) and keep up with news but…if you’re all joining some alternative Twitter site please let me know!
My husband had a dream that we had a sexy new neighbor and she was totally into me and she called me “North Candy” because I’m from Canada. Please only address me as North Candy from now on 😂
I am self-employed and have been since 2012. So I haven’t dealt with grief in a corporate/job setting, but I think it’s inhumane that people are giving 2 days off for bereavement and that’s it. No understanding. However not having a job at all is never an option.
Someone just suggested that I take a few years off writing and like… You know us humans in society need to pay like bills and stuff? Hahaha wtf
And for everyone telling me to go to therapy and get a life coach or whatever: I know you mean well but why are you assuming I don’t? I’ve talked about my therapy in the past. I have writing, financial, and life coaches as well. All are great. But there is no magic bullet.
And maybe it takes guts to put your hand up and say “I can’t do this.” But it doesn’t feel good. I’m just so mad at myself for not being able to write as fast and well as I used to. I hate that it’s such a struggle and that I crumble under pressure now when I used to thrive on it
Of course I post about having “wins” this year when I just did the very loser-ish thing and postponed a book release. Man, I am trying, I am trying so hard to be the writer I used to be but my mental health is crumbling. I’m not okay, so this book won’t be either.
