Mark played college and pro football. Received opioids to deal with trauma from contact and injuries. He lost everything even his daughter Ava. One year later he graduated @LADreamCenter recovery program and his teenage daughter is now reunited with her father living on campus.
The formerly homeless children that live at the dream Center and the foster care kids that we visit are so spoiled this year and I absolutely love it. December is a nonstop party at @LADreamCenter I love you all so much for allowing us to keep doing this for nearly 3 decades.
People announcing tonight they’re leaving California due to another mask mandate. I’m announcing I’m not leaving California because my 27 year commitment is more determined then a few years of politicians restrictive policies. We’ll outlast politicians all day long! #notleaving
Landing soon in Los Angeles from Alabama. I’ve traveled 20 states since pandemic and most Californians really don’t understand how normal other states are living their lives. Like traveling to different planets. Also, how many churches are growing with Californians who’ve left.
I was walking around campus today and saw the homeless, families eating a hot meal, and the non-stop engine of the @LADreamCenter in full motion. When you donate to dreamcenter.org on #GivingTuesday you are giving towards a 24/7 place that never stops serving.
This is the @LADreamCenter a place where no one pays for housing, the kitchen open daily for anyone in need, homeless families have free housing to bounce back from life’s hardships. 27 yrs of faithful service. This #GivingTuesday would you consider giving dreamcenter.org
I’ve flown to 20 states during pandemic, personally put food in the cars of tens of thousands of people, been everywhere and still haven’t contacted Covid. It’s baffling. I’m so thankful! Haven’t even had a fever even when every person in my family had one. Totally perplexing.
For 380 days of lockdown we fed those in need. I will never forget the stories, images, of peoples lives destroyed. Truly, the most eye opening experience of my life. Trauma will remain for decades. Still cringe thinking how lockdowns crushed the urban poor and exalted the 1%
The race in Virginia shows us that playing politics with peoples lives and children’s futures by keeping them out of school has a payback date. Parents never forgot the damage lockdowns did to their kids.
My amazing daughter who had two years of high school cross country taken from her due to LA Covid school closures raced courageous today. Went with the leaders, through caution to the wind, and competed. All smiles flying back to LA from the ACC xc championships at Notre Dame.
Watch tomorrow live on the ACC network 10amET. The best conference in the country with 5 nationally ranked women’s teams. My daughters first ACC conference title race. What an experience. twitter.com/UVATFCC/status…
Always a fan when things like $shib #shibarmy or GameStop go to the moon. After seeing the way big corporations destroyed the middle class during the wealth transfer of the lockdowns it’s good to see communities rise up and succeed together.
Such a joy that my daughter has had the opportunity to do track workouts with 800M national champion Michaela Meyer and learn from the great one. Excited about ACC cross country finals next week. Really excited about track and field in 2022.
The political message is fear and division. The truth is we are way more united on a grass roots level than is being projected. Most vaccine supporters I’ve spoken with think excluding unvaccinated people from basic life activities is just fundamentally discomforting.
