In honor and remembrance of the MA first responders lost today in the line of duty, @WorcesterPD Officer Enmanuel "Manny" Familia and @BraintreePolice K9 Kitt, I have ordered all U.S. and Commonwealth flags to be flown at half-staff at all state buildings until further notice.
Officer Familia is a hero who made the ultimate sacrifice while attempting to save the young man. We are thinking of all those grieving tonight, and of Manny's brothers and sisters at the @WorcesterPD. (2/2)
Tonight, two families are experiencing unimaginable pain and loss in the wake of a devastating tragedy in Worcester, with @WorcesterPD Officer Manny Familia and a teen losing their lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of both. (1/2)

Each year, the rededication of the @MAFallenHeroes monument is a powerful reminder of the sacrifice made by so many heroes and their families. It's a chance to reflect on the need to continue to honor + remember them. Honored to join this year's event, held in-person once again.
Today I signed legislation that provides a fix to the treatment of COVID-related unemployment claims that will prevent employers' UI rates from spiking in 2021 and 2022. It creates a new, predictable and stable formula to address recoveries related to COVID-19 claims.
The law also includes a new temporary sick leave mandate for COVID-related illnesses, quarantine and vaccinations. We are pleased to have worked collaboratively with our colleagues in the Legislature on this bill to provide a solution to the issues related to the solvency fund.
Over the last 15 months, the residents of Massachusetts have shown an incredible amount of strength and resiliency, and we are pleased to take this step forward towards a return to normal. ➡️
Today marks an important milestone in our fight against COVID-19 in the Commonwealth: I signed an order terminating the State of Emergency effective June 15, and rescinding most COVID-19 restrictions as of tomorrow, May 29 as we nears our goal of vaccinating 4 million residents.
