Some say, “Yeah, but it didn’t really *do* anything” — but I think it did a lot. The idea that 1% own the majority of our financial resources was introduced into mainstream American consciousness in a way that it had never been…
Ten years ago! Speaking on the Occupy Movement in Oakland, Ca.
Today is the 10 year anniversary of Occupy Wall Street! Listen to Juliana Forlano’s coverage here, starting at 2pm ET. Happy to be part of it…
3/ Either oligarchy & corporate money, or the will of the people, will rule this country - but it can’t be both. We need a political miracle to break the chokehold of the corporate duopoly now strangling our democracy. Anyone who doesn’t see that is not a realist.
2/ Until we get the money out of politics, we’ll be tyrannized by an aristocracy of corporate power that at this point dominates both political parties. Today’s GOP takes us into a total nosedive, the Dems into a managed decline.
1/ The system we’re looking to to fix things is the system that made things this bad. Every time it does something good, the progress made is swallowed up by some result of its inherit corruption.
"Complacency is our greatest enemy and we are running out of time to make the impactful changes we need to ensure a better viable world for future generations. We're angry, frustrated and hurt. Let's take all of that and start making some changes.." Let's support @ahunt4congress!
Not only should insulin be affordable (or free), but food products filled with chemicals that we know cause diabetes should be heavily regulated. Our food system is as corrupt as our healthcare system.
I know it’s early in the day but you just have to see this.
In America today, someone whose dysfunction is the result of a corrupt system is far more likely to be held accountable than is the person or company that was the source of the corruption. Our prisons are full of victims of the system.
Alaska now officially rationing emergency medical care amid latest Delta surge. Other states sure to follow. Our health care system was unprepared for such an emergency, while we spent over $4T on imperialistic wars. #MedicareForAll #StopTheWarMachine
This is what oligarchy looks like: The drug companies, the healthcare industry, fossil fuel interests and the very rich are spending millions to defeat our legislation to protect working families and create a progressive tax system. Enough is enough. Their greed must be defeated.

When 81% of Americans support requiring Medicare to negotiate with the pharmaceutical industry to lower the price of prescription drugs opposing this policy does not make you a centrist or a moderate. It makes you a radical whose views are totally outside of the mainstream.

Both parties are bad on Pentagon spending. But in the House, only the Democrats are getting worse. A look at how Dem and GOP members voted on the last 8 military budgets:…

WAR MACHINE, WE SEE YOU! It won’t stop unless we stop it……
I can’t let this one go so I’m posting it again. This is corruption on such a level. First of all it shouldn’t be legal, but the fact that these lawmakers would even want to own those stocks says everything.…
In order to change what happens in the future, we need to be clear about what happened in the past. Listen to my conversation with @Cirincione for a clearer understanding of the legacy of the Afghan war.…
“We must challenge the belief that war is inevitable.” - Dennis Kucinich
Think of what this country could be like in 20 years if we used even half the money we’ve spent on the so-called “war on terror” ($6T) and applied it to making every public school in America a world-class palace of culture, learning and the arts.

We all have House races next year; some a Senatorial race. Show up at every town meeting & ask: If elected, will you vote to reduce the defense budget? If they say we need it high for “nat’l security reasons”, say neither Iraq nor Afghanistan wars increased our national security!
"I am running because I represent a generation that knows what it's like to have graduated from college during the middle of a financial crisis, high unemployment rates and rising student loan debt." Let's support @Thompson4TX18!

SINCE we left Afghanistan, we have added another $24 billion amendment to the military budget.…
On the 20th anniversary of 9/11 it’s important to recognize the establishment’s spectacular failure in responding to it effectively. The only thing worse is if we let this moment go by without noting that. Waging war should now be replaced by waging peace.…
If a bunch of guys with kalashnikovs and pick up trucks can beat the US military, then guerrilla activists with truth on their side can beat the corporate duopoly.
