I know it’s not in @sounddevices’ current business direction, but damn, what I’d do for a “USBPre 4” that was just a USBPre 2 with 4 channels and an SD-card recorder with the physical controls and all-analog, zero-latency monitoring path.
MixPre 6-II is great, but it’s not that.
Anyone know of a modern audio interface that has a built-in SD-card recorder AND truly zero-latency analog headphone monitoring?
The Sound Devices MixPre line has about 3ms latency for headphone monitoring that drives me slightly nuts for podcasting.
Maybe the Zoom F line?

Agreed. Netflix’s refusal to participate in Siri/TV.app was a power move, made when they were in a position of power.

Netflix used to be all we watched. Now, almost every good new show is somewhere else, and Netflix has become an endless sea of mediocre, time-wasting filler.

The reality — that a LOT of their “services revenue” is a 30% commission from sleazy games exploiting gambling psychology to extract money from people, many of whom are children — is SO uncomfortable that they keep repeatedly asserting the opposite, to the world and themselves.
The most galling aspect of Apple’s views here is how inconsistent they are with the reality of the App Store, which we all know contains tons of gross, scammy, misleading, untrustworthy, insecure, privacy-invading apps — often on the top charts, and often targeting children. twitter.com/reckless/statu…

The Windows extremists keep making fun of me for this, but trust me, I found the GUI timeline setting — it’s just disabled.

It only took 30 minutes of setting up a new Windows 11 PC before I had to search the web for how to do something, was directed to the admin terminal, and had to use the command line to solve a common problem.
What problem, you ask?
Setting the time zone.
Yup, that’s right.
My kid caught me setting up his new gaming laptop, and the FIRST thing he asked was if we could take off the Intel and NVIDIA stickers.
