A reminder that today REAL 🇨🇦 freedom fighters are in Latvia training soldiers to defend 🇺🇦 against an ACTUAL dictator threatening their way of life. This is also the CORRECT use of OUR flrrWe

As I was driving through Winnipeg earlier this afternoon with a friend, we literally saw a tumbleweed. Sigh.
@CarymaRules I'd love to see them lined up parked side by side and then have someone knock them over like dominoes. 😉 Btw, I am a#BikerBitchh. Pic from#Toyrunn 2019. I have all the freedom I want. I wear a mask because I care about other people. #truckofff#ramranchh#rollingthunderrc
Retweeted by lucy decoutere…. During the early stages of the COVID-19 lockdown, I was deployed to Ukraine to collaborate with the Ukrainian military. While there, my homebase was the International Peacekeeping and Security Centre which was bombed this weekend by Russian forces.
My Ukrainian-American mom explaining why people underestimated Ukrainian military effectiveness: “If you put two Ukrainians in a room they’ll form three political parties. But if you threaten them they become one family.”

I spent several months during 2020 working in Lviv and Kyiv with men and women in the Ukrainian military. Knowing that a 40-mile-long Russian convoy is snaking it’s way overnight to Kyiv literally gives me chills.
I cancelled my trip to Nova Scotia to see friends and family whom I haven’t been physically close to in two years. It’s a huge, fucking bummer.…
Sorry for being cringe on main but the fact that Schitt's Creek cleaned up at the #Emmys last year and @TedLasso cleaned up this year is proof that people really do prefer joy and love over doom and gloom. We should remember that more often.

I’m leaning on my car outside my office, drinking a coffee and watching planes take off and land while waiting for my next meeting. With the sun screaming down and the fast wind, just the perfect day.
So, *215 times*, some nun carried a body to a grave and threw it in underneath cover of night, but we should keep funding the Catholic school board? Got it.

the majority of talented ppl create without being abusive so if you are hiring a talented abuser it's because you want to work with an abuser who happens to have some talent & you don't give a fuck about the destruction they're causing which says a lot about you, don't you think

Sending this one out to any vaccine hesitant people. Having had both Covid and and the vaccine, getting Covid was terrible. Getting the vaccine, I had zero side effects. If it is a matter of having to pick one of these roads, my advice would be-Pick the vaccine!

Ontario or, as I like to call it, the trash belt

Every morning I get coffee from the local café so that I have a chat with somebody in person; it is usually two minutes. Once every 2 or 3 weeks I go for a walk with a friend in person for an hour. The rest of my life I spend alone. Covid isolation is trash.
Seeing Queen Elizabeth II sitting solo in her regular seat at St. George’s Chapel without her sidekick, problematic as he was, is a heartbreaking reminder no one is exempt from grief. 👑❤️…H
What’s the last live music you saw and where? For me it was last September, a (sort of terrible) Rolling Stones cover band on a street in downtown Kyiv.
if men were the menstruaters, they’d talk about it constantly, you’d never hear the end of itt, and there’d be a shrine to menstruation every few blocks. #patriarchysucks

Hey, Winnipeg dwellers who are into sustainable transportation: Talk to me about your experience living in Winnipeg without owning a car. Curious about your experience because I am hoping to avoid buying a car while having a fun life there.
I just bought my dream home in Winnipeg. Fun lovers, form an orderly (vaccinated, appropriately distanced) queue!!
When things open up again, I’m gonna go to fucking everything!
I promise you it's actually okay and good to say " I made choices I wouldn't make again, because now I understand things differently" It's a sign of a continued political education and growing consciousness.

Your feelings about not being able to do exactly what you want when you want don’t matter. People are dying. People are sick. You’re selfish if all you think about are your “rights”. You are a spoiled ahole. You haven’t experienced a life where you don’t have freedom.

@mattgallowaycbc The voices who last March said it would take 1.5- 2 years to get through this pandemic haunt me still. I feel that it helps knowing that or at least accepting that at some level.

One of the best (and rarely asked) questions was raised in a sexual violence workshop I was facilitating this week "What do I do if I think I sexually assaulted someone?" We got to talk about accountability, moving away from shame, sexual health and getting help. More of this.

Does today feel like Groundhog’s Day or is that just me?
Five years ago today marked the beginning of the R vs Ghomeshi trial. It still haunts me in the wee small hours. The crowns did nothing to prepare me. The defence was notoriously eviscerating. The serial assaulter sat mute while his dozens of victims watched awaiting the outcome.
It’s been a year since the first symptomatic case of covid in Canada. It’s been a challenging, hard, sad and sucky year. There, I said it.
