Officers out on a Friday evening conducting foot beats within LAPD’s Wilshire Division. Whether at an outdoor mall or at a park, the mission remains the same—protecting and serving residents and visitors of Los Angeles.
Today, 52 men and women graduated from the LAPD Academy, joining the finest police department in the world. They were joined by friends and loved ones to wish them the best of luck in their new career.
The sorrow of the beauty of life and service tragically cut short is represented in our Police memorial with each of our 238 officers honored therein. We face danger, adversity, and even death as we risk our lives to provide a service to our community; To protect and to serve.

Update: A group of protestors began to take the intersection. Officers attempted to communicate, clear and provide dispersal order to the group. The crowd began to throw rocks & bottles at officers. One officer injured (unknown extent). Citywide tactical alert has been declared.

LAPD's West Bureau Homicide detectives and the FBI Fugitive Task Force arrested 21-year-old Cliffton Kamal Styles for the March 12 murder of 52-year-old Marco Sandoval. Styles was arrested and booked in Texas as a fugitive on a murder warrant. More info:
To promote inclusion+awareness for athletes with special needs, the Special Olympics Southern California partnered with LAPD to strategize how to bring awareness to events such as Law Enforcement Torch Run, etc. The funds raised by law enforcement agencies all go to the athletes.

LAPD's FBI Fugitive Task Force, Operations Valley Bureau Homicide, & Gang and Narcotics Division arrested Timothy Kirkpatrick & Hakop Keloyan for the murder of Stuart Herman on March 2. Kirkpatrick and Keloyan were booked for 187 PC - Murder. More info:
