Expecting everyone to be available at all times is a recipe for burnout. Unless there's a crisis, being a good colleague isn't about responding rapidly. It's about clarity and reliability. Clarity is communicating your priorities. Reliability is delivering on your commitments.

the aggregations of such cases affect the nation, and so is bad for the nation. Still, it is a trait which is, of course, better for people to have and sometimes suffer from than to be without.”
Good, because it allows neither to stand still, but drives both forever on, toward some point or other which is ahead, not behind nor at one side. Bad, because the chosen point is often badly chosen, and then the individual is wrecked;
It is this all-pervading speculativeness which we tried to illustrate in The Gilded Age. It is a characteristic which is both bad and good for both the individual and the nation.
Some say that Africa is at its gilded age. Here’s an interesting excerpt in the book from another book by Mark Twain that I found fascinating. “In America, nearly every man has his dream, his pet scheme whereby he is to advance himself socially or pecuniarily.
The price of ambition. I’ve started to read Plutocrats. There is quite a bit in it about the gilded age, which is the period in America between 1870 to 1900 that saw remarkable economic growth fueled by ambition and industrialization.

At the gym we go to, they call us ‘wachawi’ because of the ungodly hour we are there 😄. He’s my accountability partner and ensures my body is in top shape to handle what sometimes can be a grueling way of life. I appreciate them both immensely.
We talk about what good elements of life to feed and grow and which to starve. It’s been life-changing. The second is Steve Were . Steve is my physical trainer. We have been training together almost every weekday for the last one year.
There are two people key to my journey of self-betterment. The first is Christine Asiko: she’s a life coach. She helps me work on my mind and psyche. My perception of self , the world, and how I fit in it.
