@kasujja The idea is ok as a preventitive measure. The issue is in implementation. How do we make it seamless? Rapid Testing, enough HR, comfortable waiting areas etc etc. Travelling can be very stressful especially for those with young children or who have disabilities.

So the decision to check every passenger entering Uganda through Entebbe, many will say, is reasonable. There’s no way of checking the veracity of the tests presented by travellers to Entebbe unless they are tested upon arrival, is there?
Leaving the UK (certainly London/LHR), no one checks to see if your Covid test is authentic. Just a quick glance at check in. #Uganda does better. Your results are checked against a central database before entering the airport building. Other African countries do the same.

Living a public life is a good thing. But can be a bad thing. Good because of the opportunities. Bad when you believe the hype. After more than 2 decades of radio, TV and whatnot, I know that humility ensures longevity. Don’t believe the hype. Keep working. Learning.
Africans have a right to use reliable, cheap energy and doing so doesn’t prevent the development of the continent’s renewables. Forcing Africa down one route will hinder our fight against poverty- @KagutaMuseveni in The New York Times.
Were sub-Saharan Africa (minus South Africa) to triple its electricity consumption overnight, powering the new usage entirely by gas, it would add only 0.6% to global carbon emissions - @KagutaMuseveni writing in @nytimesworld
