Remember: Knowledge is finite, and ignorance is infinite. Everyone* is subject to the Dunning-Kruger Effect. You don’t know what you don’t know. *Except my wife, who really does know everything
This is a gorilla skull, and almost certainly a cast, not a real one. I’ll wait to watch the hinted @BraveWilderness video to reserve judgment but if this isn’t a joke or some kind of meta-lesson in Bigfoot hoax history… 🤨twitter.com/tetzoo/status/…U
This is fucked. We have powerful and cynical forces in this country constructing a false history based around their religion and using it to further a dangerous and discriminatory agenda. twitter.com/AndrewLSeidel/…
They want everything to go back to a "history and tradition" that doesn't exist. What they really mean is that they want their privilege back, and the price is your equality. twitter.com/GuthrieGF/stat…

Be Smart’s @DrJoeHanson Trying to land a plane. Great job targeting the misconception of how modern airliners, don’t just “fly themselves”, even while highly automated. The landings were actually pretty good considering no training! youtu.be/2A7mblg5UKc

Celebrate Independence Day the way the founding fathers would want you to: By letting your actions be guided by reason and humanity over fear and superstition.
This is rad! Love that ants were around alongside the dinosaurs and ancient mammals and now they’re like “hey nice to see you again, been so long” twitter.com/nytscience/sta…
Mountain plateaus are truly the highest form of flattery.
Climate action in 3 steps: 1. Reduce everything we can, as much as we can, first. 2. Offset the rest (which is impossible to do if we don't reduce everything we can first). 3. Build resilience to the impacts we can no longer avoid. Why? Because the only other choice is suffering.

These 75,000 generations of E. coli bacteria have been under the watchful eye of @RELenski since 1988. Now and into the future, they're here in Austin. How many generations until we can get them to evolve to be burnt orange? twitter.com/TexasScience/s…
There are many ways to ensure this is not the last word. That full equality & rights are restored for all, at the local, state, and federal level. That the vast majority of 🇺🇸s who support abortion access are duly represented. And to keep narrow religious dogma out of government
Science can never answer the question of when life begins. It's inherently a question of philosophy. But to declare life begins at fertilization relies on a narrow religious essentialism. What science tells us for certain is this will harm women's health & safety immensely
The Supreme Court has today done nothing short of declaring women in our country as unequal citizens. Men have full autonomy and freedom over their bodies. As of today, scores of American women do not. Poor women or women of color, even less.
(I try not to post quotes where I can't find the source of the original quote but even if France never said this it's still true)
“An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. It's being able to differentiate between what you do know and what you don't.” - Anatole France

Change My View: These are fundamentally the same product
“When arguing with a fool, first make sure the other person isn’t doing the same thing”
How Minds Change is out tomorrow! Get this absolutely A+++ book by my good bud @davidmcraney The past few years have reminded us how easy it is for people to declare loyalty to incorrect ideas. This book explains why, and teaches us how those minds can be changed. Important! twitter.com/davidmcraney/s…
Yo can I get an evo-devo fact check on this? This isn't my particular corner of biology but I always thought the side of the embryo that would become neural crest was determined before the egg was even fertilized (a-v axis etc.) twitter.com/hubermanlab/st…

Ever wonder why so many national flags have astronomical symbols on them? “Nations, I do not doubt, wish to embrace something of the power and credibility of the heavens. We seek a connection with the Cosmos. We want to count in the grand scale of things.” - Carl Sagan

Beginning to think the US has a much bigger problem with historical literacy than science literacy.
Prominent Republicans are now saying this out loud: “Now is the time for the church to influence the nation. This is the vision that our founding fathers had from the very beginning” This is ahistorical & deeply un-American. Whatever your views on religion you should resist this
