Spilled a lot of coffee on my MBA today. Tried to dry it as well as I could, clearly some fluid still in the keyboard (at least) Since some keys aren’t registering and others are too much. Suggestions?
So on this stupid California recall ballot, after I vote “no,” who’s the right person to put down as a contingency? Any analysis of this at all anywhere? 🤷♂️🤦♂️
(I do not love Gavin. He’s tone deaf and makes mistakes. Nevertheless, the recall is dumb dumb dumb.)
Just taking a look at the California recall ballot — what a cluster. Yes/No on Newsom, then choose one of 50 candidates in the event of a replacement. This is not a good way to do this, whatever your politics.
Did I mention we're hiring software engineers @voting_works ?
We make the only open-source voting machine used in US elections. We also make the only software that any state can use to run a rigorous post-electin audit – and 8 states are using it. twitter.com/voting_works/s…
This is what I’m puzzling over too, especially since mood here in NorCal is darkening.
It seems they’re saying “infected people will be infectious to others” — regardless of vax status. Which seems…obvious?
What it doesn’t say is that lots of vaxed are more in danger twitter.com/NateSilver538/…
If you have over 50k followers or more do this test. Post an article in favor of vaccination and experience armies of anonymous anti vaxx trolls write well reasoned and credible tweets to attack you. Twitter has to research this @jack. Will cost lives.
So many in good humans in my life are working thru impt stuff - a sick parent, mourning a parent, child w health issues, marriage or $$ challenges.
A good reminder that folks we encounter every day may dealing with s.t. we can't see - & to be kind and give grace when we can 💝
This is a GREAT piece on science, by @Noahpinion, who quotes Richard Feynman: “Science is the belief in the ignorance of experts.”
Perhaps obvious, but the politization of everything, including science, has demolished our capability to reason.
