Well, I obviously was wrong about the two games we had left before the SEC Championship, so… 🤷🏻‍♂twitter.com/drggrobinson/s…MI
Praying again today for what Bruce Leafblad taught me about worship years ago: “Lord, draw me now into Your sweet communion and help me, by grace, to center my mind’s attention and my heart’s affection on You, humbly glorifying You in response to Your greatness and Your Word.”
I’m so excited about @JimShaddix from @SEBTS leading our conference tomorrow at @GreerFirst. Free event. No registration. 9am-Noon tomorrow (Monday). Join us! @SebtsDL

If God’s prophet made an axe head float (2 Kings 6:1-7), I probably shouldn’t ever think that He doesn’t want me to pray about the routine, mundane things in my life.
Praying for @SEBTS students today ‘that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to His grace’ (2 Thes. 1:11-12).
Praying with Paul today for all of our incredible @SEBTS students “that you may not do wrong…but that you may do what is right…[not] anything against the truth, but only for the truth. For we are glad when…you are strong. Your restoration is what we pray for.” (2 Cor. 13:7-9)
The body count on pastoral burnout is off the charts. Here’s something that can help us shepherd the shepherds to health.
If you haven’t experienced it yourself, you likely know someone who has. And it’s always looming as a possibility for every one of God’s shepherds. Don’t miss this important workshop on pastoral burnout.
We have a Coffee Break this week! Join us Friday morning as we sit down with @JimShaddix and @ambassador215 More information and registration can be found here: bit.ly/3kusMtg

Praying for all @SEBTS students, faculty, and staff today that we might “rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer” (Rom. 12:12).
Really hadn’t thought much before about how Paul’s doxology in Rom. 16:25-27 pretty much says it all…gospel…preaching…Jesus…prophetic writings…all nations…eternal God…obedience of faith…glory. Read it…pray it…rest in it!
"Preachers, let’s cultivate in our personal worship and daily walk the attitude and demeanor of our Lord. It’s the only way we’ll truly proclaim Him as the center of our preaching." — Dr. Jim Shaddix iamgoi.ng/492

“…they dragged Jason and some of the brothers before the city authorities, shouting, “These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also” (Acts 17:6). Praying today that it will be said of our @SEBTS family that we turned the world upside down with the gospel.
Congratulations to you, @Jonathanakin, and to your proud father, @DannyAkin. Grateful for God’s grace in and through your entire family. I and countless others have been the beneficiaries of your family’s ministry. twitter.com/carson_newman_…
“Nor did we seek glory from people, whether from you or from others, though we could have made demands as apostles of Christ.” (1 Thes. 2:6) Praying today for @SEBTS faculty and students that this coming school year would be one in which we truly seek His glory and not our own.
I once heard a preacher pray this before his sermon: “Lord, put your words in my mouth, & keep me from putting my words in your mouth.” I wish more preachers prayed this.

“Handling God’s Word and communicating to other people is a supernatural event. Consequently, we can’t approach it like normal communication; we’ve got to do it in utter dependence on the Holy Spirit.” @JimShaddix Check out the Q&A with Dr. Shaddix below. iamgoi.ng/shaddix

“Our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body” (Phil. 3:20-21). Thankful for dual citizenship. The present one is a great privilege; the next one will be His glorious presence.
They told me my rental car space # was written on the key tab. This is what it said. Found it in space 143. It’s all relative.
“To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power.” (2 Thes. 1:11) How can we ever be worthy of His calling? Only if He makes us by His power.
Grew up in north Alabama seeing billboards that said, “See Rock City Soon!” I’m 60 and finally got here today, which probably doesn’t qualify as ‘soon.’ But getting to see it with this beautiful girl has made the wait worth it. Love growing old with @debrashaddix!

“For we never came with words of flattery, as you know, nor with a pretext for greed—God is witness” (1 Thes. 2:5). Praying for SBC pastors as we gather in Nashville, that we wouldn’t flatter & backslap, but encourage & point out evidences of grace. Thanks, @RevKevDeYoung.
“A prophet is not without honor, except in his hometown and among his relatives and in his own household” (Mk. 6:4) Familiarity breeds contempt. Some of us have known Jesus since childhood. Don’t allow your familiarity with Him to cause you to lose the wonder, awe, and intimacy.
Congratulations, @juliabhiggins. @SEBTS has been a better school as a result of having you on board. Grateful for your friendship and partnership in the gospel. twitter.com/juliabhiggins/…
“We had boldness in our God to declare to you the gospel of God in the midst of much conflict.” (1 Thes.2:2) Praying this today for all @SEBTS students and faculty as we strive together to proclaim this glorious gospel in the midst of a world in chaos.
“I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service” (1 Tim. 1:12). I don’t always feel faithful, but my heart always overflows with thanksgiving to our Lord for calling me to be a preacher of the gospel.
Even this Bama fan is super excited about this Aggie's nomination. Congratulations, @_Matt_Carter. You will serve SBC pastors well. Praying for you, my brother. baptistpress.com/resource-libra…

Preachers, let’s make this at least one of our prayers as we preach this weekend: “Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!” (Ps. 115:1)
