Hi all, some of you will love these no-glue polyhedral kits kickstarter.com/projects/polyh… It's a kickstarter for laser cut cardboard polyhedrons that fit together with tabs only. I've tried them, they're great. A good one for teachers, or polyhedron fans.
As simple as ABC?? Here’s a backstage view of my latest illusion. (1/4)

I have a question. You may have seen me and @steck plug this maths week thing for teens that we're doing. (jamesgrime.com/virtualmathsre…) Where could I advertise it to reach the mathsy teens who would like it, and get out of my bubble? I'm worried we just get kids of maths teachers.
Parents, teachers, teens! Me and @stecks will be repeating our virtual maths retreat for maths-loving teens again this February. It is five 90-minute sessions, over half term (15th-19th). It's about geometry, it's about graph theory, it's about £45. jamesgrime.com/virtualmathsre…

You might also have missed this review/FAQ I did for @aperiodical of a new movie about a famous mathematician. This one is about Shakuntala Devi who was a famous performer of mental calculations, the movie was fun! aperiodical.com/2020/12/james-…
In case you missed it, I did a video with @Ri_Science about how maths and statistics helped end an outbreak of cholera in London in 1854 - it's a pretty famous story, and pretty cool too youtu.be/hkUCrTfgaw8
If you're looking for a fun mathematical film to watch, here's one to try. Shakuntala Devi was a performer of mental mathematics and subject of a new film. It's fun. Here's my review/FAQ twitter.com/aperiodical/st…
Here's the story though: we planned all this in January. I suggested it because the story all occurs about ten minutes from the Ri. Then, by the time we filmed it in early March, it had become a lot more relevant than we had planned!
Merry December everyone. I've done a video with @Ri_Science about a certain public health crisis, from 1854. This may be relevant to your interests youtu.be/hkUCrTfgaw8
Christian makes great interactive for my maths talks. If you need an interactive for a talk or workshop talk to Christian. twitter.com/christianp/sta…

Hopefully it will all be jolly and fun. It will be fairly small groups. If you have more than one kid who would like to do it, that's totally cool. But if they are too young (or too old) for the group, they might not like it.
For Y10-Y11 (ages 14-16), it will be two afternoons, on the 28th and 29th of November. Me and Katie, doing the same maths, but done slightly older, still on zoom, £35 again and details here vmr-y1011-nov20.eventbrite.co.uk
OK, real information for parents/teachers, this is what you want to know. For Y7-Y9 (ages 11-14), it will be two mornings, on the 28th and 29th of November (a weekend). Me and Katie, doing some interesting maths, on zoom, price is £35 and details here vmr-y789-nov20.eventbrite.co.uk
I'm doing a thing! For ages, me and Katie Steckles @stecks have been thinking about doing a maths retreat for maths-loving teenagers. We so wanted to do it, and now we covid-can't. So we're going to do it virtually!
We had a break, but I'm back making new videos for @MathsWorldUK Today I talk to the wonderful David Spiegelhalter @d_spiegel about covid and false positives youtu.be/XmiEzi54lBI It's easy to misunderstand the figures, as David recently discovered!
