This weekend, Republicans from every level of government will meet in South Texas for the NRA convention, where guns have been banned as a safety precaution. They’re willing to enact policies that keep themselves safe but not ones that keep our children safe. It’s sick.

442 days ago we voted to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous individuals. 96% of House republicans voted against it and mcconnell republicans have been blocking it over a year.

It is an outrage that Senate Republicans continue to stand in the way of protecting the American people.   @HouseDemocrats, @POTUS and I are sick and tired of offering thoughts and prayers with no tangible action to safeguard our people. twitter.com/ap/status/1529…

“There’s only one party in America right now that *ACTUALLY* has led and acted on gun violence prevention legislation and that’s the Democratic Party.” @RepEscobar is speaking FACTS! twitter.com/RepEscobar/sta…
As a gunshot survivor, I know the pain of bullets shredding your body & the struggle to accept physical & emotional scars. I know the fear of death & the trauma of survivors guilt. No child should ever have to carry this burden. The Senate must pass commonsense gun safety reform!

Gun violence is the leading cause of death among children. If you aren't outraged, read that again. #StopGunViolence

The radical right playbook is simple.
Some of my colleagues are saying they oppose gun safety reforms because "criminals won't obey them." That isn't an argument against gun laws – it's an argument against ALL laws. And it's utter nonsense.

You really don't want to know, but here's what Republicans hope to achieve in depriving women access to healthcare or the right to even make their own decisions about healthcare.

10 innocent Americans last week in Buffalo. 19 children and 2 adults yesterday in Texas. More than 17,000 gun deaths so far in 2022, many of which hardly make the news. As @TheAmandaGorman said: "do[ing] nothing isn’t just insanity—it’s inhumanity."

Uvalde is an overwhelmingly Mexican-American small town. A Latino American community has been devastated by gun violence. I hope American media won’t gloss over that fundamental part of the story in the coming days and weeks. #UvaldeMassacre

.@HouseDemocrats have passed bills to deal with our gun violence crisis. We passed two gun background check bills to close loopholes. Both are stuck in the *Senate* Tell ALL lawmakers — doing nothing is not a damn option.

It’s ENRAGING to hear Republicans say that a preventable tragedy “could have been worse." There is NO worse outcome for the loved ones of those 19 children and 2 teachers than yesterday’s massacre. We MUST take action to #StopGunViolence.
I am fed up. We WILL stand up for #GunViolencePrevention. This is the leading cause of death among children and teens. I won't wait for a new Congress to move forward on gun violence prevention legislation. I'm urging my colleagues to act NOW.

This kind of gun violence only occurs in America—and it’s a choice. We can prevent these disturbing and devastating massacres if we want. But thoughts and prayers aren’t going to cut it. We need concrete action like background checks, red flag laws, and an assault weapons ban. twitter.com/nytimes/status…

The horrific massacre in Uvalde, TX is heartbreaking and infuriating because our children and educators deserve so much better. The Senate must act now and pass the commonsense gun safety measures the House has already passed —TWICE.
Heartbroken and outraged by the slaughter of innocent children and their teacher in the Texas school shooting. We must crush the gun violence epidemic. And the hatred that is fueling it.
