Congratulations to this year’s Distinguished Honourees of the Order of Hockey in Canada! 🏆 The Class of 2022 includes Lanny McDonald, Kim St-Pierre and Guy Lafleur (accepted posthumously by his son, Martin).N
Guy Lafleur was a @CanadiensMTL legend—a @HockeyHallFame inductee, 5-time Stanley Cup champion and 2-time NHL MVP, among other accolades. But to his son Martin, Lafleur was far more than just a hockey player. He was a business partner, a teammate, a friend and—most of all—Dad.
Sometimes all it takes is one decision to change your life. For @KimStPierre33, an opportunity with @McGillAthletics altered her hockey journey and set her on the path to three Olympic gold medals, five #WomensWorlds golds and the @HockeyHallFame.
As a player, an executive, a cheerleader and a fan, Lanny McDonald has had a generational impact on Canadian hockey. The word “legend” is thrown around a lot in sports, but there’s no doubt it applies to Lanny.
