Nick Castellanos on MLB Network pregame right now: “Hitting is the thing I love most in this world but it’s also the thing I hate most” and I felt that in my soul #WorldSeries
Good pitching always beats good hitting, but good pitchers still make mistakes. It’s the job of the hitter to hit the mistake and be willing to grind out the at bat until you get it. If you don’t a great pitch to hit, tip your cap and move on to the next AB.

Coaches: don’t just inform. Transform. Person first. Athlete Second.
Finished my training this AM to come to my phone with an @espn notification for @AUProSports hoops… major moves!!!! 🏀
Being clutch involves a lot of physical preparation. Everything happens before it happens, but it also requires a lot of mental preparation, training, and toughness as well. Train the mind and the body for high pressure situations.
3. They don’t try to do too much. Less is more. They stay within themselves. In the post game interviews, we hear over and over “I was just trying to get a good pitch, wasn’t trying to overthink, trusted my plan, wasn’t trying to do too much,” etc.
2. There is absolutely no fear of failure. & if they do fail (bc it’s inevitable) they move on and move on quickly. Instead of “what if I don’t get it done?” They think “What if I do get the big hit?” Mindsets are critical.
1. The Game Slows Down - great hitters are the most quiet in the box in big pressure situations. It’s calm and slow. Take a deep breath and quiet your mind.
Thoughts on clutch (timely) hitting - a thread ⬇️
I truly wonder how many people are playing because they love the game or just because they are chasing a logo. Your self worth and identity is not tied into the team/college you play for. Don’t rush YOUR process. Don’t compare. Just be a good human being.
Excited for this team!! Y’all know the deal. Go Eags 🦅twitter.com/USASoftball/st…W

“A coach is someone who can give correction without causing resentment” - John Wooden
Pet peeve: a coach that has something to say after every single rep. Let the athlete breathe.
5. Batting average isn't dead. While the power numbers are literally insane. Judge can still win the batting title for the AL (he's #2 right now at .311). Yes, power is way more entertaining, but Judge has shown he's not the typical strikeout or homerun hitter.
4. Get stronger - improve bat speed and exit velo. Judge's avg exit velo is 96mph, the best in baseball. He hits the ball hard consistently. How? He's insanely strong. Couple that with great pitch selection and you have 62 bombs. Lift your darn weights.
3. Pitch Selection is Critical. Judge's chase rate ranks among the best in baseball. He swings at pitches in the zone and he takes pitches outside the zone. Hit the mistake.
2. It's ok to be a late bloomer. Judge is having his best season at 30 years old. Softball dads, remember this you are frustrated with 8 year old Suzie. Invest in long-term development.
1. BET ON YOURSELF. Judge knew he was worth more. He didn't publicly complain, but let his performance on the field do the talking for him. Don't like your situation? Step on the field and prove what you deserve.

Thank you @AUProSports for even more donations. This will help numerous low-income girls and Title I HS programs be able to play. No more jeans or hand-me-downs at practice this season.
