Chauvin’s defense hammered over and over and over that Chauvin did what any “reasonable police officer” would do. Thank you to the jury for affirming what we all knew and saw with our own eyes: It was NOT reasonable, it was criminal.
Today is #EqualPayDay, marking the additional days into 2021 the average American woman must work to earn what her male counterpart made in 2020. But remember for Black women, that day is Aug. 3. For Native American women, it’s Sept. 8. For Latinas, it’s Oct. 21.
"My name is Arlan. I'm a 40-year old Black woman from Texas, based in LA. Six years ago, I was on food stamps. Today, I have built a venture capital fund from the ground up, and we have invested in 175 startup companies led by women, people of color, and LGBTQ founders."✍🏾

today we have a new look 💅 & a new mission: to show you so many variations of what success looks like, that you can’t help but feel confident & empowered to define your OWN.
this is the theme of our new season of Girlboss Radio, dropping Monday with a new host! 👀🎈🎧
why should exponential growth be the only defining value of success?
running a lifestyle business should be valued as much as a big exit
having a 9-5 you love should be just as “successful” as running your own business
now you might be wondering: "can I still use the term ‘womxn’ for myself?"
if womxn is powerful and meaningful to you, go for it. just don’t apply it to others without their consent, & be mindful of how it comes across to those who are trans & nonbinary.
speaking from personal experience as a non-binary person, it can actually be pretty dysphoric to be referred to as a womxn.
when you use this term, you’re still placing someone within the gender binary, which is antithetical to the nonbinary identity itself.
when describing transwomen, there is no special distinction that should be made (like "womxn"), and making one is kind of transphobic, tbh.
so if you want to be inclusive to trans women during #womenshistorymonth, describe them as they are: women.
while the term “womxn” may be helpful for some communities, it’s alienating for others—particularly trans and nonbinary people (🙋♀️it me)
1. transwomen are women. full stop.
2. non-binary people are not women (or men)

hi, hello, & welcome to #WomensHistoryMonth
you're going to see the term "womxn" used a lot this month (but not here).
tossed into Instagram bios as an afterthought, womxn is not a one-size-fits-all inclusive term.
let's unpack this, shall we? ⬇️girlboss.com/read/womxn-mea…
Dropped my daughter off at school and before she got out of the car I told her when I picked her up there will be a Black woman as Vice President. Her face lit up like sunshine. Amid all the craziness, been little time to acknowledge and savor that. But what a day.
what I wouldn’t give to be invited to this after-work happy hour 🍷
