To decarbonize or to not decarbonize? 🤔 John Slattery, GE Aviation president, & CEO says that "Decarbonizing aviation is our industry's moonshot." Today, our engineers & the U.S. space agency are creating that moonshot with the help of electric flight propulsion technologies.
Let’s talk about engines:  Gurhan Andac, a GE Aviation engineering leader, works on engine biofuels & synthetic fuels such as SAF (sustainable aviation fuel). He says the aviation industry could reduce its carbon contribution from fuel by up to 80% with already-approved fuels.
In our 2020 Sustainability Report, released in July, we announced an ambition to be net-zero by 2050. Our tradition of innovation will play a big role as our team finds new ways to combat climate change — while also working to improve the quality of life for everyone.
