Cracking bday present done for me by my very talented housemate. Two big @eltonofficial fans under one roof. Thanking all #RocketmanWatchParty #eltonsfarewelltour #saturdaynightsalright

Young people face so many challenges and potential distractions so it’s vital that promising young athletes get support and encouragement, to help them stay in sport and fulfil their potential. I look forward to seeing how they progress in the future. - Exx 🚀 (2/2)
I launched the #EltonJohnSportsFund with @rocketsportsuk in 2014, and am so proud that in 2020 we’re going to be supporting 15 more of the most talented young British athletes through @TeamSportsAid. (1/2)
I'm so, so proud of @ladygaga, whose new record #Chromatica is even better than I could have imagined. It was an honour to be a part of it, and I hope you all love #SineFromAbove as much as I do! - E xx 🚀g
Last week's episode featured soul's leading men and this week is all about the women. Featuring #NinaSimone, #EttaJames, #CarlaThomas and more, tune in to this week's #RocketHour to hear Elton play his favourite tracks from the Queens of soul. apple.co/elton
And that's a wrap! Thank you so much for joining me, I love you all! #RocketmanWatchParty
Seeing this scene for the first time also set me off sobbing again. Bernie was one of the people who tried to tell me to stop doing drugs and I wouldn’t listen, but he stuck by me and never gave up on me. #RocketmanWatchParty
I broke down the first time I saw this scene of me hugging Little Reggie. I’d spent most of my adult life running away from myself. It was time to re-embrace the real me. #RocketmanWatchParty
No one forced me to do drugs and drinks. In fact, a lot of people, including Bernie, tried to warn me I was out of control, but I didn’t listen. #RocketmanWatchParty
I knew @TaronEgerton was the right man to play me when I heard him sing “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me”. It’s a really hard song and I even struggled with it myself! #RocketmanWatchParty
The costumes! Designer Julian Day recreated over 80 of Elton's iconic lewks for the movie. This sequined Dodger uniform, one of his most famous pieces, was originally created by style icon Bob Mackie. What I wouldn’t give to put this on! #RocketmanWatchParty

The more my life with drink and drugs spiraled into unhappiness, the more my stage costumes became ludicrous and outrageous. #RocketmanWatchParty
@eltonofficial #RocketmanWatchParty When I saw the Rocketman scene in theaters for the first time, I had genuinely never been so touched by a scene in my life. I’ve never seen a person’s pain so eloquently and devestatingly displayed on screen before. Perfection.❤️🚀✨.

Some studios wanted us to lose the fantasy element, but I lived in my head a lot as a kid, and it was like that when my career took off - it didn’t feel real. My life has been so 'larger than life' that only a fantasy film could capture its true spirit. #RocketmanWatchParty
They shaved Taron’s head and thinned out his hair to make it look like mine in the 70s, which he hated. Welcome to my world, baby! At least yours will grow back… #RocketmanWatchParty
It took a fairly Herculean effort to get yourself noticed for taking too much cocaine in the music industry of 1970s LA, but I was clearly prepared to put the hours in. #RocketmanWatchParty
My Honky Cat cosplay- based off an actual Elton jacket that he wore in 1976! #RocketmanWatchParty @eltonofficial

Kiki and I are still great friends today. She still comes to see my shows and I love her dearly. #RocketmanWatchParty
To say it was a lot to take in is a terrible understatement! #RocketmanWatchParty
I left England in August 1970 more or less unknown, but came back a month later with the American critics calling me the saviour of rock’n’roll. Artists who I worshipped like Brian Wilson and Bob Dylan were turning up to say they loved what we were doing. #RocketmanWatchParty
That’s honestly what it felt like, when everything in the room starts levitating. I’d been slogging around the clubs back home, to so many people who weren’t interested, but then everything clicked at The Troubadour and my career went off like a missile 🚀#RocketmanWatchPartyyq
I thought it was really important that the actor who played me sang the songs themselves. I didn’t want them to lip-sync. Taron had already sung ‘I’m Still Standing’ brilliantly in the film ‘Sing’. #RocketmanWatchParty
In 1969 (nice), Bernie Taupin and Elton John wrote a song for the band Lulu, who recorded it for the Eurovision song contest. It placed sixth out of six songs. We demand a recount and for Bernie & Elton to be shown some goddamn respect. #RocketmanWatchParty

I love so much that this movie feels like a musical. I love @eltonofficial and all his music as it exists, but I also love this, in a different way. I like that they co-exist. #RocketmanWatchParty

Elton's frequent collaborator Bernie Taupin once said Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting features one of the "greatest strident, blistering guitar chords ever created" in rock and roll. How modest. #RocketmanWatchParty

Taron isn’t doing an impersonation of me, and he doesn’t look uncannily like me, but he’s like me. He’s captured something of me, just as Richard Madden’s got something of John Reid and Jamie Bell’s got something of Bernie. #RocketmanWatchParty
I knew the song was in the film, but not how it was being used. It fitted life in Pinner Hill Road perfectly. It's a real testament to the power of Bernie's lyrics when words written about a grown man's life in 2001 can be reapplied to a child in the '50s. #RocketmanWatchParty
I was in the cinema for about 15 minutes before I started crying. Not as in the occasional tear, but really sobbing. Watching my Mum and Dad, and my Nan, in my Nan’s old house in Pinner, singing ‘I Want Love’ - a song Bernie and I had written in 2001. #RocketmanWatchParty
using this watch party as an excuse to reshare the drawings i made during rocketman summer 2019! (1/?) #RocketmanWatchParty

Bryce Dallas Howard plays Elton's mom Sheila, who, IRL, is only eight years older than Taron Egerton. That's what we like to call "Hollywood math." #RocketmanWatchParty

The best way to escape it was to shut myself in my bedroom with my record collection and my comics, and drift off into an imaginary world, fantasising that I was Little Richard or Ray Charles or Jerry Lee Lewis. Music was my passport to a much happier life. #RocketmanWatchParty
My mum and dad must have been in love once, but there wasn’t much sign of it by the time I came along. I think they were just staying together because of me, which made things even more miserable. #RocketmanWatchParty 🚀S
Not enough wonderful things can be said for not only @TaronEgerton’s performance in @rocketmanmovie, but also to Director @Dexfletch and his vision for this project. Genius. #RocketmanWatchParty

I was never interested in looking back at my career but that changed when I had children. I became less conscious about keeping it all to myself and love the idea of them having a film to go back to that captures the true spirit of their father's life. #RocketmanWatchParty 🚀N

Working with Ray Cooper, with just the two of us on stage, was equally exhilarating and challenging, but that last show in Moscow was probably one of the best concerts I’ve ever given in my life. 🚀#tbtt eltonjohn.lnk.to/LiveInMoscowDY (2/2W4
#OnThisDay in 1979, I played in Moscow on my tour of the Soviet Union. Being one of the first Western artists to tour the Soviet Union was an incredible experience - it was one of the most memorable and happy tours I had ever been on. 🎵eltonjohn.lnk.to/LiveInMoscowo (1/2)j
