Vanderbilt and Belmont and Lipscomb and other university/college students in the Nashville area- our Bible study is tomorrow @ImmanuelNash in the gym at noon. Lunch is on us. A student asked, “Are atheists welcome?” ABSOLUTELY. And everybody else too.
Thank y’all for the kind birthday wishes. Maria, knowing my Enneagram 4 self would listen to melancholy songs about the inevitability of death, said: “Remember when you listen to Jimmy Buffett sing ‘A Pirate Looks at Forty’ today, that you’re actually way past that now.”
…I hadn’t thought of it in years, but I read this very comic book as a kid, in the Woolmarket Baptist Church library, which is why the first time I met Chuck Colson in person I was a nervous wreck. It was like meeting a Green Lantern or Wolverine.
At the Rooted conference today, a very kind youth minister gave me this amazing gift: a mint condition 1970s-era edition of this comic book about Chuck Colson. He probably wondered why I was stunned speechless… /1
