Finally, the last sketch of the night (and their final sketch on the show) saw Kate and Aidy playing a pair of eccentric middle-aged women once again.

Pete Davidson's time at SNL ended as it began: at the Weekend Update desk. Pete was best known for his Update appearances and pre-taped music video sketches, so it was only fitting that he closed out his time on SNL like this.

Kate bid farewell to one of her most beloved characters, Ms. Rafferty from the "Alien Encounter" sketches. Her goodbye was the first tearjerking moment of the night. Kate has so many memorable characters, but Ms. Rafferty is probably the most deserving of a happy ending.

Aidy did one last Weekend Update segment with Bowen Yang, as two "trend forecasters." They only started doing this bit three months ago, but Aidy and Bowen's recurring delivery of "GO TO BED, BITCH" made it instantly iconic. Gone too soon 😢.p

This is a big deal, so here's how they all said goodbye to the show: Kyle revived his role as Brad Dates, the long suffering keyboardist of the Treece Henderson Trio. SNL hadn't done this sketch in over two years, so I have to imagine they brought it back specifically for Kyle.

The Kate McKinnon/Aidy Bryant/Kyle Mooney/Pete Davidson era of Saturday Night Live has ended. Kate and Aidy have both been on the show for 10 years, Kyle for 9, and Pete for 8. Kate is also the first cast member to win an acting Emmy on the show, and she has two of 'em.
