I wish I knew... how season 1 ends. 🤔…o
Let’s start with a question for those who may not be familiar with you. Who do you Tweet for?
I offer free mentorship to designers from underrepresented groups for years now. If you want some support, good chat and a 3rd opinion let me know. I'll open some room for new mentees soon and may DM you back.

Let’s take it back to the beginning, Maya. Why’d you originally create an account?
Thoughts on a sitcom about designers, @Apple?
For Safety Mode’s content design, we outlined four steps: 1️⃣ Create mental model 2️⃣ Set goals 3️⃣ Solidify voice 4️⃣ Choose tone Let’s look at each step. 🧵 (1/6)…A

With that, I’m out!! ✌️ This summer I got to explore, develop & grow immensely. If you’d like to be friends or ask questions, you can find me at @banhanananana. Until then, I’ll be questioning the decisions I made as a 13-year-old & scrolling through Twitter 👋🕺🏽
A HUGE SHOUTOUT to my manager @ivyblaine & my mentor @EyeDeeeen for always giving me the necessary, honest & constructive feedback+support I needed to improve. Also a GIANT thank you to the content design team for being THE BEST team @ Twitter (SORRY I DON’T MAKE THE RULES 💅🏽iuC
I would never have thought that I’d be able to contribute anything to the company I’ve loved since I was 13 & yet, here I am! As my internship ends, I leave not only with improved content design skills but also confidence in my ability & genuine passion for the work I’ve done
For my summer project, I got to build the content strategy for @TweetDeck and work with designers (specifically the very talented @Lockichu) to create accessible, comprehensive and user friendly content for many different feature screens.
As a Design & Research #Tern, not only have I got to cultivate and build my content design skills, but I’ve also learned how to make truffle cocktails (thanks to my team social), the value of accessibility and the importance of a bright, kind and supportive team 🌟💃🏽
A typical day usually starts with me waking up, scrolling through Twitter, before I remember I intern here & start work 🏃🏽‍♀️💨 The rest of the day is full of a lot of writing, Figma, meetings & 1:1s where I usually get to fangirl or get fantastic life+career advice!! 👩🏽‍💻
Well, that and debating the one question all content designers fear, “did it hurt when?? you remembered the oxford comma exists” 😱😨☠b1
Almost every single virtual interaction you have is driven by content (& therefore, words). At Twitter, the Content Design team uses words to make sure you have a simple & seamless experience on the platform. This summer, I got to work on this team (AKA a team of ABSOLUTE GOATS)
Hello hello! ✌️ I’m @banhanananana, a Design & Research #Tern on the Content Design team. Today, I’ll be taking over @TwitterDesign from sunny (& also somehow very rainy) Florida 🐊☀️I
Some ✨ fun ✨ facts: 👩🏽‍🎓 I go @UCSanDiegoego. I’m majoring in Cognitive Science w/a specialization in Design & Interaction 🥛 I have a personal vendetta against lactose 🪄 My first experience with Twitter was when I started a Harry Potter stan account at 13 (yeah I was THAT kid)

It’s been a long time coming, but today we begin testing Tweet Reactions in Turkey! 🇹🇷 We want to help people quickly express themselves in conversations on Twitter, for when a simple Like doesn’t cut it. Here’s a short thread for how we thought about this on the design side ux2

Joey, let’s start with a bit of a polarizing topic: Design Twitter. What’re your thoughts on this unofficial Twitter community?
Forget the pixels for a second. Let’s focus on Tweets. Design Twitter is full of folks who Tweet well, and we want to figure out the secret to their sauce. Welcome to @TwitterDesign Interviews. 🧵9
For now, we’re testing this with a small group on iOS, and we’ll share more later as we learn, iterate, and expand to Android.
This test explores how we might support conversations in all their different forms by giving Tweets with photos, videos, and text more room to shine and bringing more focus to the content on the Timeline.
By reducing the margins on Tweets, we can better use the space in a Tweet so the focus is on your message and what you have to say, while bringing the timeline to life with larger photos and videos.
We’re continuing our work to improve how you view Tweets and all forms of media on Twitter. Today we’re starting to test a more immersive timeline in which photos, videos, and Tweets with text spanning the width of your screen leaving no margin. Here’s what we’re exploring. 🧵h
This feature (if you turn it on) automatically detects & blocks accounts, at scale, that are dog-piling or harassing. Our goal is to remove the burden from folks having to this themselves, manually. I hope Safety Mode helps people feel safer when they need it most…

Today we’re introducing Super Follows to the world ⭐️ I’m proud to have worked with an awesome team to build a product to help Creators monetize & engage with their most passionate fans. Here’s some insight into this Design & Research-led effort 🧵…Eu

Hey Creators, We want to hear from y’all. ⬇️…
an interviewer once said they didn't have slack or their work email on their phone because "there's no such thing as a design emergency" and that's the exact moment when i deleted slack and email from my phone

Oki, that’s all for me! Thanks for spending some time with me today ❤️. If you have any questions (or just wanna be friends) you can find me @lesliexin! Alright, time to get back to work...or scroll on Twitter. 👀
Overall, huge shoutout to @EdDaWord, @treemershon, and @sofo for being the absolute best mentors and just all-around people :’). And I can’t forget @khristinejoys, ty for keeping me sane this summer hehe. Incredibly grateful to have met you all <3
I never thought I’d be able to find a space where I can exist as both a designer & engineer, without having to choose one or the other. It’s been a loooong journey to accept that I’m a generalist, and it’s one that isn’t over—I’m just glad Twitter is cheering me on along the way.
As for the type of work I do, here’s a project I worked on this summer. It’s a Figma plugin that enables designers to use the Twitter emojis (Twemojis) in their designs! I truly never thought I’d be able to look at emojis all day...and be PAID for it. 😌F
But generally, you can find me in one of these three moods throughout the day. 😳8
As for a typical day, I usually start with a cup of coffee and then dive into some heads-down work in the morning. After an async stand-up, my day is usually a mix of team and 1:1 meetings, and working in the codebase or Figma...or both!
This summer, I’m on the Design Systems team (aka the best team with the BEST people). We’re responsible for building the tools and systems to support other design teams at Twitter, which means we get to work on a wide and ever-changing range of projects!
At Twitter, Design Engineers are creatives that do a hybrid of design and engineering (duh). We build high-fidelity prototypes, support the design system, and much more! Here’s a super serious meeting my intern bestie @khristinejoys and our mentor @EdDaWord had this week.
I’m currently in my last year of studying Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo 🎓. Outside of work and school, I love making art (creative coding especially), collecting houseplants, and attempting to eat every hotdog in Vancouver. Pn
👋 Hiiii everyone! I’m@lesliexinn, a Design Engineer#ternn based in Vancouver 🇨🇦 this summer, and I’ll be taking ov@TwitterDesignign today.eCsG
Well that’s it for me, y’all! Working at Twitter this summer has literally been the biggest dream come true. But I do have one more dream I’d like to achieve before I go, so Twitter do ur thing: how many RTs will it take for @ChrisEvans to Tweet me back? 👀
Of course, none of this would be possible without the guidance and support of my mentor, manager, cohort bestie, and internship coordinators, so special shoutout to @EdDaWord, @treemershon, @sofo, @lesliexin, @FindingMeeemo, and @jenrob32! 🔥❤️🥺
