perhaps the best (?!?!) website i've ever seen: beautiful, simple, clean, perfect use of interactive elements / simulation + text; I landed on it thinking I'd take a peek and spent 30 minutes learning — and understanding! — how mechanical watches work ciechanow.ski/mechanical-wat…

Those choices we make matter. Everyday we’re faced with choices, some of them seemingly quite mundane and trivial, others more significant. Here’s a story from my new book that’s become a touchstone for knowing what is sacred and making the right choice.

In 1959, Eugene Ionesco wrote the absurdist play Rhinoceros in which one by one, an entire town of people suddenly transform into rhinos. At first, people are horrified but as the contagion spreads, (almost) everyone comes to accept that turning into a rhinoceros is fine. 1/

This is case of information design malpractice so severe that it borders on disinformation. Look at the scales. Look at the upper bounds. Look at the colors. Look at the relative saturations. What do you see? Image description here: twitter.com/sleepyknave/st… twitter.com/carlquintanill…
