Brian: Fred's a different kind of drummer because he's the front guy...
Fred: "Spellman Pellerin" - A very old song, and now an old video! Check out the beard on this guy! I had just gotten an 8 mm film app on my iPhone at the time and went a little crazy with it. youtu.be/UuOrCIJZua0

Matt: When I am developing a piece, I'll just play until something falls out that I actually remember. So if I'm playing a solo...
Fred: The only constant that you're ever going to experience in life is change. When you think you have it figured out, life's going to change in a snap.
Thank you to William J Hennessy Jr. for the cool artwork. "I sketched the guys during an appearance in Leesburg VA...in Feb 2020. It was a fantastic show! One of the best I've seen! Anyway, I didn't have any paper so I sketched on my ticket. And Fred signed it!"
Tonight, September 19, Fred will be doing a live stream performance at 7:30 pm central time at facebook.com/cowboymouth1
One of the best books I ever read about performing was a book that Jerry Lewis wrote called a "Dean And Me"...
The two very different versions of "Man On The Run"...
"What makes for a good guitar solo?" Matt: To me, something that's memorable is always better than something flashy. I've always been a huge fan of guitar solos that, when the solo comes around, people are singing the solo as much as they're singing the vocal parts.

Fred: We're all just doing the best we can with what knowledge and experience we have at our fingertips. The person that we always beat up the most in our lives is ourselves.

Fred: Being stuck at home during the pandemic, while I have been catching up on much needed sleep that touring has deprived me of for the past 15 to 20 years, I definitely want to get the hell out there on the road again. Because that's what we do. #concerts
Tonight, August 22, at 9:00 pm central time! Tune in at facebook.com/bruisersmusic
Fred: We all have this energy. We all have this possibility inside of us. So why don't you take that extra step? We'll give you the incentive through the show, through the music. And in that process of losing yourself, maybe you can find yourself. #possibilities
We just posted an unreleased demo to our Patreon account. Listen to it and read the back story at patreon.com/cowboymouth

Fred: I enjoy playing shows because they are a constant creative challenge. Where can we go with this? Where can I go with that? What are we going to do here? And I really still enjoy it. In fact, that's the part of the whole Cowboy Mouth experience that I enjoy most. #Shows
Brian: I have never had a bad show with this band. That's pretty amazing, because I have played with quite a few bands where there have been a lot of disasters. This one's just always fun.
Tomorrow night, August 15, watch live stream shows from BOTH Fred and Brian. It starts at 9:00 pm central time at facebook.com/bruisersmusic
Fred: A lot of the songs I write are basically notes to myself without me being conscious of it. Sometimes I don't even realize it until after the fact. I'll look at a song and go, "Oh wow. I needed to hear that." Sometimes songwriting can be a pretty spiritual experience.
Brian: I think my job is important on holding down that foundation to where -- when Fred gets in his rants and he's preaching the good word -- he doesn't have to think about keeping time, because I am holding it together for him. #bassist
JTG - There's a lick that I play every night in "Light It On Fire" towards the end. I heard a guy playing that one day in the guitar shop by my house in New Orleans. I was like, "Whoa!" I walked up to him and said, "Can you show me… what did you just play?" #guitarist

When writing a guitar part, I do a lot of experimentation until I stumble on something that I like. I don't plan things out. I play around until I hear something that sounds cool. -- Official band merchandise at go.bandstofans.com/cowboymouth-st… #guitarplayer
Fred: I try to point to the possibilities within everyone individually. I don't tell people what to do. I don't tell people "Do this to be happy." That's silly. And anybody who does that, chances are they are trying to put their hands in your wallet or up your rear end.
Tonight at 7:30 pm central time! Tune in at facebook.com/cowboymouth1/ #livestreaming
Fred: I wrote the song "Whatcha Gonna Do?" about a very personal experience. The question… What are you going to do about these things that have happened to you? Somebody who listens to that song and is going through a similar experience, they have to answer that for themselves.
Matt: One of nice things about having a little recording studio in your basement is you get to go through all of your horrible ideas privately. Then, if you land on something that seems decent, that gets to be the thing that you put out into the universe. #recordingstudio
