Dan was a funny raconteur. One great @dakami story that made it into print was about the bug name he'd come up with: Fraggle Routing. He loved the name, but could never find an actual bug worthy of it. Being an optimist, he was sure it would come along. wsj.com/articles/you-t…

After 12 years as a parent at SFUSD, I’m pulling my middle schooler out of the district next year. The lack of a plan, a year into this pandemic, made the decision easier. People tend to overstate SFUSD’s flaws. It’s been great for my kids, but the Board let us down. twitter.com/MattHaneySF/st…

Many of the kids in this school are simply being left behind, as the school board that Ms. Collins is now on has failed to address the challenges of the pandemic head on. The consequences of this lost year will last lifetimes.
