It's a beautiful day to protect yourself, your loved ones, and your community.
As we wrap up our week, I’m not just thinking of the tremendous work we’ve done or the ambitious projects we announced. I’m thinking of the people who call the “World’s Borough” home.
The greatness of our country is our diversity, and it’s alive on the streets #inQueens.
Rosedale, Queens got 5,000ft of new water mains and 2,800ft of new storm sewers to combat flooding and make the neighborhood more resilient than ever.
It’s part of dozens of projects we’re working on to improve infrastructure #inQueens!
Thanks, #HarryAndMeghan, for joining us today @ PS 123 Community School #inHarlem.
Students enjoyed reading “The Bench” with you and were excited about sharing their mural inspired by the book! #ArtsEd empowers students to express themselves and chase their dreams!
Booster shots are available at City-run sites for people who received two doses of the Pfizer vaccine 6 months ago.

Wind technology is the key to our future. It will protect our planet, create jobs, strike a blow for economic justice and do so much more — and New York City is uniquely situated to lead the way. #ClimateWeek
“This #ClimateWeek, we're reflecting on all we've done to protect our planet AND all the work we still have to do. But most importantly, we're thinking of why we're doing all we do. We're doing it for them.”
.@NWSNewYorkNY has issued a Special Weather Statement for Staten Island. Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of the area through 6:15 PM. Winds in excess of 40 mph are possible. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.
This year we launched #SafeSummerNYC, an aggressive strategy to keep our city safe.
There's always more work to do, but police and community came together to keep our city safe, and the numbers show it:
We expect some powerful rain today and a flash flood watch is in effect. We could see an inch of rain over the course of one hour. Take this weather seriously and exercise caution, especially on your commute or if you live in a basement apartment. Follow @NotifyNYC for more.
.@nycemergencymgt has issued a travel advisory for NYC from 9/23 - 9/24. Gusty winds & heavy rain possible during thunderstorms. Heavy rain may cause urban flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. NYers are advised to exercise caution. Info: on.nyc.gov/2Zul0rj
With more heavy rain in NYC's forecast tonight, we're inspecting catch basins in flood prone areas to make sure they're functioning at their best. If you see a clogged catch basin, please let us know! Fill out this @nyc311 form on.nyc.gov/2XM4jEU, and we'll follow up.
There’s a Flash Flood Watch in effect from 4 PM today until 8 AM tomorrow. Rain will start later this afternoon, and we’re expecting 1-2 inches total. There is also a chance of 60mph wind gusts and severe thunderstorms. Plan ahead, stay home if you can and follow @NotifyNYC.
If you've got questions, we've got the answers #inQueens.

We became the safest big city in America by knocking down barriers between police and community. But we need to go further. The "How Did We Do?" initiative will give more voice to our community and help our NYPD officers better serve our city.
Here’s @NYPDChiefPatrol with more.
New York City is literally leading the charge — today we’re announcing a $75 million investment in an electric City fleet and charging stations citywide.
The future of #NYC isn’t just green, it’s electric! #ClimateWeek

For too long, Queens Boulevard was called the “Boulevard of Death.”
We transformed it in the mission of Vision Zero. Traffic injuries are down 19%, and the final phase of bike lanes will be completed next month.
The community is thriving #inQueens.
Queens is leading the #COVID vaccine race in New York City with more than 1.5 million people fully vaccinated. That’s a staggering number — but we’re not stopping there.
